this is usually called Dynamic Video Memory Technology (DVMT). you can set this to use max allowed, and you should be able to get some more VRAM for the GPU. just keep in mind that this will use RAM from the 32GB of your CPU.

you should be able to change that in your laptop's BIOS.
usually the only memory sizes you can choose from are 128mb, 256 mb or maximum DVMT though. where maximum DVMT scales according to the RAM the GPU thinks it needs for the workload. depending on motherboard manufacturer this might be called slightly different though.

Dedicated comes with the GPU in the laptop. So you can't. But you can probably manipulate how much ram GPU uses.

So I just got back from Parris Island for Marine Corps boot camp so I've been out of the tech scene for three months and I don't really know what GOOD gaming / productivity laptops are on the market right now- I'm looking for something with a great CPU for video editing but also a capable GPU for gaming. My budget is like $1500 and under so I'd love to see what you can do

Get the 390, as the i7 won't give you a boost in gaming performance (maybe 1-2 fps) where as the 390 will give you a significant performance increase, plus you could then sell your 280 and i5 and buy an i7, and have both!

After watching the LTT nuke video I wanted to make my own custom case. I designed it for 3D printing and with room for an ITX board and a mini GPU and SFX PSU. I have only test fitted a non working motherboard and a GTX 1060 6GB and it fits. There's room for a 120 mm fan in the bottom and in the top, but 90° HDMi cable bends are required to clear the fan in the top. As well as the two fans pushing air through the whole case I placed the PSU next to the CPU to such some air from the CPU heatsink. I hope it runs cool enough like this. For overclocking I think it would be a good idea to place the PSU outside the case and run the cables inthe back, and install a big heatsink on the CPU. The case fans should provide plenty of airflow through the CPU heatsink.

I liked the color scheme Luke chose so I went with the same red band. 

Just saw the mantiz venus, looks like that might be the one. Saves me the $100 or so buying a nice dock too, and has pretty much everything I want while being compact and pretty. Thanks!

I run servers and desktops, and if you're planning on using your computer for day to day stuff just get a Windows 10 key. Windows Server is just a pain in the ass when it comes to allowing you to do most of the stuff you'd want to do if you game because the OS is so locked down.

Ocarina of Time was perfect, not a single thing wrong with that game.

Do something like what I have. Get a LGA 1366 Xeon, or if you wanna bump it up a LGA 2011 Xeon, plenty of cores, plenty of speed.
 
It's really pretty btw.

It's not even nostalgia either, these games just had simple mechanics that they executed perfectly, and it made the game enjoyable to play, yet difficult, and required skill.

I made a lil budget PC a bit ago to play OW with a GTX 750 1GB, and on high settings I got a constant 60FPS at 1080p. OW is not a hard game to play
