Biography
I went to school for Software Engineering, graduated and started working for a granite counter-top company because the two fields are so alike.
I got into building PCs because I wanted to play Crysis and then got into it more when I realized that I couldn't afford to build cars but i COULD afford to build PCs.
I have seen so many Tech Tip videos even before Linus was on his own but I watch them in the car and never remember to visit the forum or even sign up. But I really like the stuff lately and the idea of a submerged PC got my buddy and I all soggy. Hopefully we can do something like that.
A friend asked me to put a PC together for them. They wanted to be able to do some light photo editing and the husband wanted to see how gaming on a PC would compare to his console (PS3).
I allocated about half of the budget to the GPU and bought the cheapest MOBO and case I could get. These weren't going to be power users so they would need/notice the additional features of a higher end board/case.
She is really into Dr. Who so I did a little custom paint job on the front with black enamel and a home-made stencil of the phone booth (I was told it's called a Tardis but c'mon...it's a phone booth) And since this thing would be able to churn out damn decent in-game performance I figured that little catch phrase was perfect.
