xiamandrewx got a reaction from TVwazhere in Help finding cases that support 360 and 280 radiators.
Thanks for all these suggestions. I think I'm going to go with the Enthoo Pro M. I really don't like the design of the Shogun and I had bad experiences with Thermaltake cases.

xiamandrewx got a reaction from BenTan in EKWB Water block for Gigabyte GTX 980 Ti G1 Gaming
I think the difference in the board layout is negligible once it's watercooled. Only netting you about 2-5 extra fps in games on max settings. I think what really makes the difference is the cooler on the card. The blower style cooler on the reference design doesn't leave a lot of head room for overclocking. So as we saw when the hybrid cooler was put up against the g1 gaming they scored very similar results each edging one or the other out back and forth.
So a reference card with a waterblock, in theory, could easily trade blows with the G1 Gaming. That being said, if EK says they're gonna make a waterblock for the G1 Gaming 980 Ti I would definitely wait. If you're like me and just wanna have the bragging rights of the FASTEST 980 Ti on the market today.

I encourage you to check out some reviews of the hydro/hybrid GTX 980 Ti cards. Jayztwocents' review told us that the EVGA Hybrid is using a reference board design. I've seen that the EVGA 980 Ti Hybrid matches the G1 Gaming most of the time.
Now that I'm done rambling... I think you have nothing to worry about. The gains of the custom board over the reference design are, IMO, negligible. The cooler is what's gonna allow you to get a better GPU and VRAM speed. So if you've planned a custom loop, then go for the reference.

Hello Linus Tech Tips, this is the Awesome Hardware Crew!
We can’t even believe you extruded on the sea creatures last night. Like, REALLY?! I guess it’s not a huge deal, but Lord GabeN really didn’t like bestowing all the extra dicksharks after breast hair started trending.

Just get Flash MSI setup, you have no junk, and a better install.

xiamandrewx reacted to ReadyToGame in Flash Update Automatically Installs McAfee! WTF!
They are an intel based company, and intel has a lot of money, so they probably pay Adobe to offer the product, because there are a lot of people these days that won't have Anti-virus, and when they find out that this product is protecting their computer, then they might want to buy the full version, and that generates income for both Intel and Adobe. It's all about the marketing. Just be careful next time

xiamandrewx reacted to ReadyToGame in Flash Update Automatically Installs McAfee! WTF!
Flash will ALWAYS ask you before installing McAfee. Did you download the update from their website? If you did, then there is a checkbox in the middle of the three "squares" on their website that prompts you as to whether or not you want to install McAfee. If it was from your computer, with no browser then you obviously missed a checkbox. Just uninstall McAfee, and you should be fine.

xiamandrewx got a reaction from blackadder in Help with my fan controller.
Hey guys! Aaaanndd ladies
I just received my Fractal Design Arc Mini R2 today. I love this case, but there's not enough connections on the built in fan controller for all my fans. I would like to add a triple rad to the top of the case and a double to the front. This case only has enough connections for three fans, however.
So my question is: How can I connect a fan splitter (like the one linked below) to work with the built-in fan controller on my case?
http://amzn.com/B00OD7MO6E
I know there are others out there, so just use that one as an example. I'm trying to avoid the cables that split into more cables for easier cable management. That's why i really like the one linked there. I can use some double sided tape to mount that and plug all the fans in a single location. Any tips or hints are welcome. I'm a fairly experienced techie, so I'm not afraid to mod the fan controllers cable if I need to.
Thanks! Have a great day!!!

xiamandrewx reacted to i_build_nanosuits in CPU advice on New Build
for me the problem with that video is that they tested the CPU with a weak GPU...playing demanding games on high settings...and then they go : here CPU ''A'' and CPU ''B'' give the same performance...well of course they do...if you test with an R7 250...both the pentium g3220 and i7-5960X will most likely perform the same in games...but one is still a significantly stronger part...you get my point.

xiamandrewx reacted to W-L in RAM XMP not recognized by motherboard
Yeah when i was setting up I was like why is there no XMP option, what did I do wrong and found out later it wasn't supported, it doesn't make a big difference, but Kingston's Fury RAM should basically work almost every time at full speeds, without the need for any tweaking.
-
xiamandrewx reacted to W-L in RAM XMP not recognized by motherboard
Kingston Fury does not support XMP, I bought a kit and realized that afterwards, but other than losing minor performance gain it should basically work at the rated speed no questions asked.
Edit Sorry it auto corrected!

Quality products. But the Corsair AXi you mention is also good.
I guess I just have a personal preference for Seasonic, and EVGA products.

xiamandrewx reacted to RichardsD in Shopping for a new Power Supply
If you are doing all that awesome stuff, you might as well get a decent power supply. I'd recommend a Corsair HXi / HX series, they have.. I think 7 year warranties which is bloody amazing, really nicely built, great quality caps (Not sure, have not looked, they may be Nichicon).
That is me personally. The Wattage, eh maybe 750 if you really want to go hard and pack your system. I wouldn't go over that.

When lube is involved, there is always confusion in the mix.
OP:
That corsair cooler is quite lovely. Do they come with different colored rights for the area that sits on the cpu now? I've never seen that before. I dig it.

yeah, I haven't done any tests or anything. but Im not sure what youtuber said it, but it makes sense. I was just thinking how like metal cages will protect whatever is inside of it from electricity, and these bags are just very scaled down versions.
http://electronics.stackexchange.com/questions/5990/do-antistatic-bags-have-conductive-interior-exterior-or-both
just a quick google I did.
"To create the anti-static effect, the black bags or silver bags are slightly conductive, forming what is known as a Faraday Cage around the item to be protected avoiding any discharges from being deposited onto the protected devices as the bags are handled."
