  1. if your that person that on a forum needs a reason to care here you go- I7-5820k Corsair vengeance lpx Asus x99 deluxe R9 295x2 H100i Samsung Evo 120gb ssd Hx1000i psu So when I started my pc all was well but after 15 minutes my power supply began to buzz and it scared the crap out of me. It continued to produce a sound when ever I turned on the system but not when power was flowing and the system was off. I checked to see if a cord was in the fan but that was not the cause of the buzz as my fan was in 0 rpm mode. I began to research what could cause it and found two things. One was something called coil whine which seemed to be produced by unconditioned or dirty power from the wall but even in my comptia certification class which has the worlds largest power conditioner the noise was produced and when a load was placed by my gpu pitch increased and upon a sudden drop in requirements by my gpu followed by a sudden need the pitch would dramatically change to higher or lower. My a+ teacher said it was my capacitors where not a high quality and I should rma my hx1000i and purchase a seasonic 1000w platinum certified that had grade a capacitors to solve my problem. Is it likely that the capacitors are my problem and that buying this psu would solve my problem? The pc functions and does not restart or do anything else crazy it's just my psu sounds like a tesla coil playing a song at half the pitch but double the volume. And is there a better power supply that you would recomend? Besides the noise is there a risk this could cause damage and I should leave my pc off until I replacd my psu. IMPORTANT NOTE -my graphics card has some really special power requirements that must be meant however amd suggested psu's that had some crap ratings - also I did not daisy chain my graphics card I have it running on two separate 6+2 pin cables.
