  1. but which feels better to hold and use while playing?
  2. well I already got to play it at my PS3... but yeah I'm still gonna play it on PC to see the jump in graphics
  3. yeah I think I remember it saying that it emulates a 360 controller, but I guess I ended up with the latter 10% of games that don't work with a controller, like Witcher 1 which I've been saying again and again here haha and I also like some games with mods that change the button layout or the commands that show on screen to match that with the PlayStation controller, I think I saw one with Watch_Dogs
  4. the problem I have is its compatibility with some games, like I can set it up in motioninjoy but sometimes some games freak out or something when I have the controller on
  5. aw man why did you change from a PS4 controller to an Xbone controller?
  6. but are some 3rd person PC exclusive games (like witcher 1) playable with a gamepad?
  7. damn I'll keep this game in mind and will definitely buy it when I get my PC! although I don't know if it can run at 1,000,000,000p and 21,000 frames per milisecond
  8. but I just got so used with playstation controllers my whole life... how about if I buy a dualshock 4?
  9. well if there's any hardware that I'd sacrifice in my rig, the GPU would probably be the last one (if I'll even consider it haha), since I'm still gonna go through with my plan to SLI some 970's and get the most out of every game I can on 1080p. thank you though for the advice!
  10. so since I'm only now coming into the PC gaming scene after growing up some RTS PC games, but with mostly the PS1, 2, and 3. I feel like I'll still want to have that console experience with some games, examples would be with fighting games, 3rd person games, and racing games. leaving RTS, First Person, and whatever other games optimized for PC playing (from the top of my head) as the games that I'd play purely with the beloved mouse and keyboard. so I just want to know what games play nice and smooth with a gamepad? specifically the sixaxis controller for the PS3 since that's the latest one I have lying around here, and if possible also please provide instructions on how to get it working. here on my laptop, I tried to play the first witcher game, hoping it would be playable with a gamepad, but I couldn't find out how to make it work though...
  11. darn it, so the price of my build in the US is actually cheaper? ok I just checked, and it turns out I'm spending about $500 more here in the Philippines that I would buying from the US... http://pcpartpicker.com/p/TcdbrH but still in terms of price, my build is actually kind of surprisingly hefty in the USA, hopefully the price also matches the performance. considering I won't buy a new keyboard and mouse for this and will just borrow my friend's old keyboard and mouse, good thing I have a 47" plasma tv so that I won't have to buy a monitor anymore though...
  12. I actually just realized how expensive the entire thing is, since I always see posts here and in youtube about how to make gaming PCs under $1k, and seeing that mine is already above $1.5k is surprising to me. I actually thought my build was average at best... any other possible choices to make it cheaper? in getting an HDD, should I still care about getting the fast kind? like a WD black? or is a Seagate Barracuda good enough? I'll probably buy one when I go and buy my other 970, since that's the time that I'll really get my storage full (probably)
  13. I'm at the brink of buying the parts for, and building my first ever desktop PC! the build I'm gonna make is gonna be used for (in no particular order) gaming (gonna start with kind of older games first [especially with game series like AC] then progress to current games, especially AAA games, video editing, movie/series watching, making and storing documents. I really want to believe that getting an SSD would make my life so much easier especially when I do video editing and other more work/productive stuff, but at the same time I think and upgrade in hardware that I get now would make my life feel smoother when compared to this laptop that I'm using now, please give any insight on that as well. I know I can get much more storage if I buy an HDD with the same price, but I'm okay with constantly deleting files if I'm gonna end up with a much faster piece of hardware anyway. I also want to add in the fact that I like to multitask (or maybe the better way of saying it is that I'm lazy to close some programs that I'm not using) in that as of now I have 38 tabs open on Google chrome, with 10 of them being from this website. so if any case the RAM I'm planning to get isn't enough for this + the aforementioned uses that I'll have for it (like gaming + the tabs open) then just tell me. here's my build as of now, any comments and criticisms would be welcome, but only if they'll be helpful. no bad mouthing just for the sake of shaming me please. BTW the prices listed are the prices that they're sold at here in the Philippines, and I just converted them to make it easier for you guys to understand. Cooler Master Hyper 212X CPU Cooler - $44.848 Intel Core i5-4690K - $287.03 Asus Z97-A - $224.24 Corsair Vengeance 8GB 2x4gb ddr3 1866 CL9 - $118.85 Crucial MX100 512gb - $287.03 Antec TruePower TP-550 80Plus Bronze - $71.76 Corsair Carbide Air 540 Airflow ATX Cube Case - $170.42 Gigabyte GTX 970 4GB - $515.75 (and I'm planning to buy another one for SLI after 1-2 months)
  14. so recently my external hard drive suddenly lost some of its files, specifically some videos and a lot of photos, I didn't delete anything or such. what I did was download this program called Stellar Phoenix to try and recover the aforementioned files, what ended up happening was that the files ended up being "recovered", but when I went and tried to open the files, I couldn't. I don't know if they're corrupt or what, but I just couldn't open them. it was just frustrating as it took me 2-3 days of continuous recovery to end up with the result. now I'm not giving up in recovering my files, so I'm asking here now if there re any known, reliable, and hopefully free data recovery software to try and save my files.
  15. so basically the actual titles that require a lot of GPU horsepower support SLI?
  16. can you elaborate on that? I don't get what you're saying...
  17. so I just found out today that apparently not all games support SLI, so I'm just wondering if there are just a minority of games that don't support SLI, or are there a lot of good ones? I'm still planning to build my new PC come this February, and I initially planned on making it with a 970 SLI. but if it ends up that getting SLI would be a waste of effort, then I'll probably just get a single 980. what do you guys think?
  18. just counted the number of tabs I have open now.. it's on 31, and that's just because I don't like reaching the point where I can't see the icons of which websites are on for each tab. the laptop i'm using right now has 8gb ram, and when I have this much tabs on (which I usually do have) and open Sony Vegas Pro or Photoshop, it really takes quite long to open, and even more so to operate (especially Sony Vegas Pro, since it's for video editing). although this might just be because of my laptop's CPU and/or GPU, but I can't really tell. another thing I wondered was that about 2-3 years ago I could play nice games here like Skyrim on high settings while getting at least 30fps, but now even the original Starcraft doesn't fully function at most times when I play. I'm not sure if that last part was useful or what...
  19. will I find myself running close to max RAM usage when playing games? or even video editing?
  20. oh so is it the same for other AC games with issues? I don't really know which are okay and which aren't. I mean do older AC games that had problems still have problems till this day and were never fully fixed?
  21. well I'll ever really know till I actually try them out hehe well at least there's still hope, I'm just so excited to finally take part in playing some high quality games in a high quality machine.
  22. thanks for the in depth explanation, I get it now. as I said I'm just gonna start getting into PC gaming, I'll probably not notice the stutter since I'll be considered a "casual gamer". although it would feel like such a waste especially since I'll spend so much on the hardware to supposedly play games at max graphics settings. would you say that Ubisoft is the only mainstream video game producers who have this problem? or is it common among AAA games these days?
  23. thanks for that, I'll probably try the first 2 when I don't have anything else to do anymore haha
  24. living in the Philippines I'm already used to the tropical island scenery so probably the Himalayas are a nice change of view hehe
  25. would you recommend I try out the first Far Cry? or just go on with 2 or 3?
