  1. well that was kind of a funny premonition haha, I guess I'll go with the SoundMagics for now. it's not like you guys are payed to recommend them anyway... or are you? lol
  2. hopefully something like how the Superlux HD681 EVO is for headphones, where it's cheap but sounds like it should be more expensive than it is. if you'll notice I also just made a post about the headphones, I'm just opening up my options especially with IEMs which I think are more sensible to use outside
  3. one problem I saw with the HD668Bs were that they don't come with a velour pad, and in my experience pleather pads are not very comfortable especially for long usage. and are the HD668Bs also semi-open?
  4. but were you able to compare between them? or you just picked that one and you're just honestly satisfied with them? how do the HD668Bs sound? are they durable? sorry I just want to know so much...
  5. so I've read almost everywhere that the HD681 EVOs are like the best value headphones out there, but as I was checking out its price at some online stores here in the Philippines, I noticed that the Superlux HD631 headphones was just at about $6-8 more expensive than the HD681 EVOs. I don't know why but there aren't many comparisons between these two in the internet and I'm not really good at looking at specs to compare the two, so if anyone here is good at doing that (comparing drivers or whatnot) or has any opinion between them please share, whether it's just their build quality that's different or even the sound. They both look aesthetic as hell and are from the same manufacturer so yeah... actually there were other Superlux headphones at the site I'm checking that were only $1 more expensive than the HD681 EVOs, but I didn't want to include them here anymore as the topic would be too wide. oh yeah and I'm also concerned about the durability of these as I'll probably use whichever I choose as my go to headphones. in my experience no matter if they're headphones or earphones, I end up breaking them in a couple months...
  6. I don't' know as well haha, guess I'll have to ask around when I'm actually gonna buy one
  7. hey thanks a lot for the help! one last thing, would I need a DAC/AMP for this setup? if so what should I get? best for value as well, I don't care if it doesn't look sexy or whatever haha
  8. thanks for actually checking up on that, I don't really know much about what details matter and how they do matter... now I'm planning on getting the 2.0 and adding a good subwoofer down the road to fill in the lower end gap that the 2.0 will probably have, would you recommend any?
  9. oh so the size of the 2.0 makes it have about the same bass quality as a 2.1 that doesn't really have a big subwoofer?
  10. haha so simple, so you also say that that is better than getting a 2.1 system?
  11. well if I don't need a subwoofer then I'll just buy the Swans D1080 bookshelf speakers since they're pretty much the same price with the Swans GT1000, I couldn't find any Micca speakers at all at the online shops here in the Philippines, if you have any specific model in mind please tell me so that I'll ask around at stores.
  12. right now I'm leaning towards a 2.1 system to provide for some shaky bass while watching movies and just casual gaming and such. oh and what I'm looking to buy right now are the Swans GT1000, they look good, allegedly sound good, and are at a good price point for me at about $170 so what would you guys recommend? I see a lot of recommendations for bookshelf speakers (and I was actually planning to go with a pair), but the lack of a subwoofer made me think if it's worth buying especially if I want some nice mini home theater experience in my little bedroom. what do you guys think? I'm also open to hearing about 5.1 or 7.1 setups if they're really worth it, and at a price point of about $200, more if it's really really worth it. so just to mention, the purpose would be for movie watching and casual gaming with other people from a distance, since I'll be using headphones for more up close and personal gaming and video editing.
  13. so what set would you recommend?
  14. yeah it sucks that the time that I can ask questions and such is when most of the people here are still asleep. as for the speakers, I can't find on any online resources so I'll have to walk around to see if some shops even have those. so this setup would need the AMP to work? I find that the common cheap AMP/DAC that people buy around here are FiiO, they're around 20-40 USD. are those any good?
  15. at the moment I'm looking at the Swan GT1000 which are at about $170 if converted from the price here in the Philippines primary use will just be for watching movies and shows with other people from a distance, since I'll most likely use headphones for personal stuff like gaming and video editing. it doesn't have to be an all in one system like it's sold as 2.1, it can be 2 speakers and 1 different subwoofer if that's a better option. and I don't know about getting a DAC/AMP, what do you guys think?
  16. you think this happens even with newer games?
  17. thanks for that! I'll keep that in mind when I finally get by build together!
  18. thanks for that, hopefully what we're looking for eventually gets here and we'll all be happy haha BTW I checked out your rig and I'm jealous of your audio set up, if I can even get just some nice headphones (planning on Sennheiser HD 558) and a mic like yours, maybe some speakers as well but I don't know which yet, would you recommend your speakers?
  19. so if G-Sync is for when the fps is below the refresh rate, what do I need for when the fps is higher than the refresh rate?
  20. you have a point, but as I said, if I had to sacrifice some features, 144hz would be one of them. although as you said it would be nice to have everything (without a ridiculous price tag)
  21. yeah I did mention that I would be doing video editing, and as well like to appreciate accurate colors in gaming and such. as hard it is to tick every box, the one box I'm willing to let go is the 144hz or 120hz, and maybe even lightning fast response time, as long as the game doesn't stutter and tear
  22. so tearing actually happens when I'm always above 60fps? well that's also why I'm looking to get a 1440p monitor, so that it's supposedly the sweet spot for me to still get nice frame rates and beautiful resolution, actually looking at the Dell U2713H since you guys said earlier that there aren't any other 1440p monitors that have g-sync besides the ROG swift
  23. well isn't 144hz more for competitive gamers? those who need to see every movement so that they'll react as fast as possible (in high speed games like FPS) I just thought that I won't need 144hz and that I'll just spend the money that might be able to buy a 1440p 144hz monitor for a 1600p 60hz monitor (if they're the same price, I'm just speculating)
  24. if I understand correctly what you're saying about 4k with G-Sync then... I can go and play with ultra settings on 4k with games and go below 60fps without worrying since G-sync will make it feel like I'm running 60fps?
