  1. If you want to run Plex then you are better off going with an Intel CPU for transcoding. Game servers are typically more reliant on more powerful per thread performance, so you'd also be better off with higher clocked but less cores than just a ton of cores. For Minecraft you won't need anything too powerful but keep in mind if you ever want to run more CPU intensive game servers. Also use an NVMe drive if you can for boot. You can also put your game servers on it if you get a 2 TB one (Minecraft worlds can get a bit large). Then put your media library on HDDs in some form a raid configuration. You don't have to go crazy with OS choice. My own server that's at almost 256 TB is just running plain old Ubuntu server with my drives running in ZFS raidz1.
  2. I'm a bit surprised LTT didn't go harder with the projector. I'm assuming a limitation of what Clark's AV had available. It looks like Epson has even brighter projectors (20K+ lumens) that support HDR and HDR10+
  3. I can't take any open air build seriously that people daily drive. Seems kinda cheating to say yours is "smaller"
  4. So what reason would someone have to buy this over the Odyssey Neo G9? I get the price difference is still like $300-500 but if I'm already spending over $1000 on a monitor what does this give you that the G9 doesn't?
  5. Hello, I am currently in the process of gathering parts for a rack mount PC build, and my motherboard will have support for Thunderbolt 4 and USB 4. I noticed that no optical Thunderbolt 4 cables exist yes, but TB 3 and TB 4 are both the same speed. Will optical TB 3 cables still work the same for TB 4? I don't see why not since the protocol hasn't changed, but I figured I'd ask before dropping a ton of money on an expensive cable. Thank you!
  6. Yeah and most US homes have can have anywhere from 20-50 A receptacles for larger appliances. But your standard outlets will trip your standard fuses after 2-3 kW, that's what they are implying. I logged in for the first time in like 2 years just to respond to how pathetic some of these replies are. Go try and run a media business yourself.
  7. I don't think I've read such an elitist comment in a long time lmao
  8. Should probably start being active again...

  9. Seeing as a hang out with friends a lot and we frequently lug an annoying projector setup around, this would make life a lot easier. Surprised this tech hasn't been around longer.
  10. This topic makes me feel sad about the state of the internet as a utility. Pls y u do dis 'merica.
  11. Well most games released from "westerners" are usually not extremely popular in the Asian countries. So it is a combination of ignorance and being cheap. If they don't see a gain in putting servers there they won't.
  12. According to that post, you solved that issue. Is it still a problem?
  13. I had a friend with a problem similar to this, so I am trying to figure out what he did.
  14. I meant more of, unplugging the GPU and doing it, so it does not have any output.
