  1. so, I found a semi deal on a Alienware 17 r5 1060, 16gigs of ram, 128 ssd +1tb hd, gsynch for $1300, only caveat is its a refurbish, thoughts?
  2. yeah, it'll probably come down to if I can limp my current system along until then.
  3. thanks for the replies and sorry and the delay on my end. in regard to battery life, 4-6 hours? more is nice but not really essential. looking at a few, I see the new rtx mobil cards seem to be going live at the end of the month, so I'm thinking of holding out till they are released and either picking up something new with a 2060, or find one of the old ones with a 1060 on sale due to the new release.
  4. So I find myself in the market for a new laptop my budget is $1000-1400 US primary use would be gaming (I know, gaming on laptops isn't the greatest but that's where I find myself atm), with some photo editing. I don't really care about weight, good battery would be nice though. I'd probably lean towards something with a 15 inch screen, but could easily be talked into a 17 inch.
  5. your friends are wise to stay away from salt simulator 5000. feel free to add me, vortigern#1161
  6. add me too, Vortigern#1161 also remember to join the LTT community group, not many of us there, but some activity at the start of seasons
  7. Fuel seems like it has a pretty large map
  8. should so be called total: warhammer
  9. You are so going to burn for not already having ME trilogy and I think they make the premium edition cheaper than normal + premium pass to make people shell out for the better deal, rather than eek out the same cash in two installments. it's the deluxe version of bf4 that I don't understand at all.
  10. Bioware kinda tried that with inquisition though, and imo it was the weakest of the three dragon ages. main story was great, but... way too many side-quests that were make work. Honestly Kotor had better side-quests from an open world point of view as they all dealt with solving a planets issues and had mini arcs. edit: oh, and Activision EA merger. Call of Battlefield: yearly shooter!
  11. the tavern songs from dragon age inquisition Mass effect 3 also had a pretty sweet soundtrack oh yeah, and Homeworld
  12. I think it would be okay? You're adding a few extra layers of oxide (that the aluminium already has) by anodizing, so it might decrease cooling by a little, but I doubt it would be by more than like 1-2 degrees. I'm not sure what it would do to the copper. I think it would be okay, unless it electro-etched the copper, which would be very, very bad. Okay, so after taking a quick look anodizing I think you might have a problem. Both electro-etching and anodizing use (mostly) the same process. Items for anodizing and electro-etching are placed on a positive charge, which I think may cause the aluminium to be colored, and for the solution to eat the copper. You could possibly get around this by using a resist on the copper. I'd say ask the place you are getting it done at if the copper is an issue or not as they may be able to put a resist on the copper and give the aluminium the awesome look you want.
  13. erm, correct me if I'm wrong, but I always thought titans were for rendering junk, not gaming really?
