In light of the news that Microsoft has run out of stock for all Windows phones, I just wanna remind everyone of the Windows Phone 7 RTM parade (and how badly it aged):
-
It's really interesting seeing Microsoft's attitude towards things before they fail. They thought that the Windows brand meant that Windows Phone and Windows RT and Windows 10 S and whatnot would lead to runaway successes, because Windows is the most popular OS out there. Of course, they were not, because:
A. Microsoft is completely tone-deaf and has no idea what consumers expect out of Windows, and
B. The Windows brand is associated with crashing, viruses and the whole Win32 ecosystem, the last of which Windows Phone, RT and 10 S lock you out of
Of course, though, Microsoft is completely tone-deaf and hasn't learned anything from the failures of Phone, RT and 10 S.
