    I too am 5'11".
  2. In light of the news that Microsoft has run out of stock for all Windows phones, I just wanna remind everyone of the Windows Phone 7 RTM parade (and how badly it aged):

It's really interesting seeing Microsoft's attitude towards things before they fail. They thought that the Windows brand meant that Windows Phone and Windows RT and Windows 10 S and whatnot would lead to runaway successes, because Windows is the most popular OS out there. Of course, they were not, because

      A. Microsoft is completely tone-deaf and has no idea what consumers expect out of Windows, and

      B. The Windows brand is associated with crashing, viruses and the whole Win32 ecosystem, which Windows Phone, RT and 10 S lock you out of

Of course, though, Microsoft is completely tone-deaf and hasn't learned anything from the failures of Phone, RT and 10 S.

“But but the developers are lazy asses who won’t even bother making apps for Windows Phone.”

Well, I mentioned those because I'm a network engineer. There are manual labor and accounting jobs here as well.

It depends on where you live, but the state is all-around expensive. Pioneer Valley, for instance, is less expensive than MetroWest and the Greater Boston area, because nobody lives there, but it's still expensive for a rural area. Meanwhile, all the good jobs (especially IT jobs) are in central and eastern Massachusetts. So, if you want a good job, better pay up ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Also avoid Bristol County, it sucks here.

I live in Massachusetts. Not sure what it's like being trans because I'm cis, but trans folk are protected under state law.

Y'know it's kinda cool seeing an older person into tech.
  7. Ah, LTT Forums! Welcome! I hope you're prepared for an unforgettable luncheon!

I'm fine with living in America, thanks

I mean, Manchester seems nice. It's a big city that's actually affordable while still having plenty of shit to do, plus New Hampshire has no income or sales tax so those are bonuses. Also, Manchester has Dyn, which I might be qualified for, being a network engineer by trade.

So, uh I'm actually considering moving to New Hampshire now
  11. ThinkPad Edge isn't for business. They're consumer laptops. They even still use IdeaPad BIOSes.

Well, one of them is trans, so there's something. The others like video games.

You would think that since I have 3 sisters I'd get along better with girls, but I don't. I'm only friends with a handful of girls and some of them I've known for just a few years, and that's because we have similar interests.
