Haven't they been researched since the 1980s? I know the technology's technically older than I am, this is just the first time they've been found to be effective against something.

So basically, Dell/Alienware is failing to meet idle power consumption standards in a few states because of the cheap power supplies they use in these PCs, and rather than simply upgrading to better, more efficient power supplies that do meet these standards they just choose to decline orders from these states because that's the short-term cheaper route.

I'd just to remind everyone that a lot of Intel and AMD processors have built in TPMs.
On AMD it's called a fTPM.
On Intel it's called a PTT.
 
It can often be enabled in the BIOS and you can check if it's working by opening up the start menu, typing in "tpm" and clicking on the "security processor" thing that comes up.

If it's about that old then you should be able to just enable PTT/fTPM in the BIOS. This will be enough to pass the TPM 1.2/2.0 check, and also means you won't have to pay scalper prices for hardware you don't necessarily need. 

Just enable PTT (Intel)/fTPM (AMD) in your BIOS if you're on Haswell or first-gen Ryzen or newer. That'll be enough to make the Windows 11 upgrade checker thingy pass the TPM 2.0 requirement, and to my understanding that's a "soft" requirement with TPM 1.2 being the "hard" requirement according to this page.
 
tbh my biggest issue's that UEFI BIOSes are now required. This is gonna lock a lot of laptops from the mid-2000s to early-2010s out from Windows 11, whereas they could run Windows 10 just fine.

If anything, the DMCA claim proves that Windows 11 is real and will be fully unveiled in a few days. Although, I'd wager that what'll be shown at the Microsoft event will be more feature-complete than the leaked build.

The biggest problem with rainbow capitalism is that it's only performative at best. What I mean by that is they just slap rainbows onto things to make it look like they care, but then in the background they continue to donate to anti-LGBT groups and politicians. Their "support" is just an empty veil and is virtually meaningless.
 
But at the same time, it makes LGBTphobes unreasonably angry that the cereal box has spaces for pronouns on the side so ayy lmao
