I can only see two scenarios: 

A) MFA, they are eliminated in favor of a national system where you can cross state lines and still be covered. 

B) They can remain, but they must cover any and all medical procedures without denial. 

B isn't going to happen anytime soon and if it does it will only hasten A. 

I've gotten tendinitis in my hands a few times in the past half year (with a slight flare up this week). I empathize.
