  1. It's on their QVL for the x99 Xtreme 4 "DDR4- 2400 - G-Skill 8GB F4-2400C15Q-32GRR Quad Channel 4pcs
  2. So, I just got done building my dream computer. Could use a few more upgrades but its my baby. My first MOBO I ordered I had to RMA and then the second one I got works fine... except it won't fully boot with my quad channel mem kit. Sys Specs. Case: Corsair 780T Full Tower CPU: i7 5820k GPU: Gigabyte G1 Gaming 980ti PSU: Seasonic Snow Silent 1050 W 80+ Plat MOBO: ASRock x99 Xtreme 4 RAM: G-Skill Ripjaws 4 DDR4 32GB (4x8) 2400MHz EKWB Predator 240mm Rad for CPU cooling -______-PCIe-______- Intel 750 SSD 400GB TP-Link Archer -________-Storage-_____- Samsung 850 EVO 500GB WD Black 1 TB HDD OS: Windows 10 64bit I've tried the sticks in different orientations and all of the sticks are fine. They all work in Triple Channel excluding one just fine. I've tried taking one out and testing them individually and they all work, except it won't in QUAD channel. Referred to the manual and reseated them several times and even tried the other quad channel orientation but it just won't fully boot. Mind you the whole system turns on but nothing shows on screen, but soon as I take one stick out it boots fine. Don't get me wrong 24GB is plenty more than I'll ever use but if its a simple fix I'd like to have all 32GB .
  3. I may a couple years down the road but for now I think 6G's will be plenty. I'm running a 280x 3GB at the moment. So I think I'll stick with one for now. If I was gonna get 2 then I'd need a bigger PSU.
  4. If you have a local pharmacy you can special order Isopropyl 97-99%. That's what I did. Didn't cost me much either. They'll inquire as to why you need it but after you clarify why you need it they'll be understanding... at least most of the time.
  5. Hello! Posted my first build on here and with all of the suggestions I made a build I'm proud of... but I still run into hiccups now and then with gaming. I've been saving this past year and am looking for a decent upgrade from what I had before. Mostly going for a 1440p maxed gaming computer. I don' have all the money for it now but I should have 1.5-2k to play around with near the Cybermonday sale. Also going to have about $700 from selling my old build to a buddy Just in the planning stages now... this is what I have so far. MOBO: ASROCK X99 Extreme4 LGA 2011 CPU: I7-5820k 3.3 GHz - I've seen stable OC's at 4.5 GHz CPU Cooler: Swiftech H240-X All in one cooler RAM: G.Skill Ripjaws 4 series 32GB (8 x 4GB) 3000 MHz GPU: Gigabyte G1 980ti 6GB PSU: 850W EVGA 80+ Gold Fully Modular Chassis: Cosair Graphite Series 780T Full Tower I'm still planning this build. As far as storage goes I've been waiting for the 750 series of intel to drop in price. That may or may not change I don't know at this point. Kinda just putting my dream computer together. Going for more of a Blue/Black build but then again that could change! Thanks for any suggestions!
  6. If you read my above comments I cannot even get a post. So of course I don't hear the HDD, thing wont even boot. No noises either the CPU LED just shines red like it's not detecting it/ not getting enough power. Sorry if I sound agitated its just everything that could have gone wrong with this build did. (EDIT) BTW tried my power supply with a friends computer who has almost the exactly same build + same CPU and it booted his comp fine. So my PSU isn't faulty.

    CPU Problem

    Pictures of my problem
  8. The heatsink that I ordered didn't have the correct standoff's so I was able to use the intel standoff nuts for the board. It sat down nice and snug and I never OC'ed the CPU that high. I only went from 3.5 to 3.77 and that's without changing voltage or anything. Also the temperatures never got above 40C because I never had the chance to stress test it or play any games. I have UEFI, and I have tried resetting the CMOS and I re-flashed the mobo to no avail. The CPU Led just shines red like it isnt getting enough power even though my PSU is fine. I'm not sure if the motherboard has a bent pins or not because I don't have a magnifying glass but from what I can see they're all straight. Same with the CPU.
  9. I'll try everything I can today and if I'm still lost I'll come back to this post. I'm gonna wait for my buddy to wake up so I can try his PSU
  10. OK, so this one's a doozie. I just recently built my system and had some problems with it but I got it up and running for 5 days no problems. The temps were always cool and the highest temperature any of my components hit was my GPU when I was benchmarking it. (70*c) I did the XMP profiling on my RAM but I haven't even gotten to over-clocking or messing around with the CPU yet. I have an aftermarket heatsink and it's kind of jerry-rigged but it works. Well now it won't boot and my CPU LED just shines a bright red. Specs: MOBO- M5A99X Evo R2.0 CPU - AMD 8320fx Black Edition GPU- Vapor-X R9 280x RAM- G-Skill Ripjaws 2133 MHz 2x4 GB PSU- Corsair HX-650 80+ Gold The Bios version I have is the most recent seeing it last updated in 2014 - M5A99X EVO R2.0 BIOS 2501 I did the BIOS flashback before I even put my build together. So it's on the most recent version. I'm going to try a bunch of stuff today to troubleshoot it. I'm going to clean thermal paste and try taking the core out (Mobo, RAM, CPU, GPU) and try to just post it. I'll be going to a buddies today to try his PSU just incase mine somehow crapped out in 5 days. Just looking for suggestions. Thanks.
  11. So I'm getting my build together and have only a few more parts to order before I'm finally done. For the most part I was going to go with the M5A99FX PRO R2.0 from ASUS until I realized that the PCI x 16 slot is so close to the first PCI x 1 slot; but, then I found out there was another version the EVO R2.0. Now it's not the best for crossfiring but I don't intend to crossfire any time soon seeing as this is my first build. Any ways, the board supports up to 1333, 1600, 1866, 2133 DRAM. ( http://www.asus.com/us/Motherboards/M5A99X_EVO_R20/specifications/ ) But here's where my problem starts. I got a good deal on a pair of G-Skill Ripjaws X series 2133 MHz 2x4 gb kit. So I hopped on that sucker and thought nothing of it. Seeing as the board supports up to 2133 mhz. Now as a newbie I stumbled upon ASUS "QVL" and got worried till I poked around a few forums. This relieved me but I remember G-Skill had a calculator for if their ram was good on that mobo or not. As far as the EVO R2.0 goes, their Ripjaws series is supported but only up to 1866 MHz... So I guess the question is that will it work? I've tried finding things relevant with the EVO R2 but to no avail. Wondering if I should try the sticks out or just send them back for the 1866 MHz when they come in. Just needing advice on it from someone more knowledgeable. Thanks for helping if you do!
  12. Hello everyone my name is Josh and I'm new to these forums. Nice to meet you and thanks to whoever can help me on my build. Now this is my first build but I want to go a little further with it so it'd last a couple years. I've looked into it as far as I can as a newbie and read up on a few things. I ran my build through PCpartpicker and it seems alright. Looking to see if I have any inconsistencies or things wrong with the build. Also open to suggestions so please hold nothing back. I'm a newbie but I'm not closed to criticisms Thank you very much if you help. 1. Budget & Location - I'm looking at either $800-$900 - And I live in Nevada, USA 2. Aim - It's mainly going to be a gaming PC but I'm also going to do a bit of video editing on it. Nothing professional, just something I use to edit my dance videos or put out some game related content. (I don't stream or LP) 3. Monitors - I'm not going to do anything crazy like 2-3 monitor display. I'm just sticking with 1920x1080p Monitor for now and maybe upgrade in the future. 4. Peripherals - I may buy a gaming mouse but not going for anything crazy. I don't need a fancy gaming keyboard. As far as the monitor goes I have a good one for now. Might get one in the future. 5. Why are you upgrading? Well... I've been on bad comps for most of my life lol. Mostly been low end ACER - HP products. While I am grateful that I even have access to these amazing machines; they just don't make the cut. I'm not a huge graphics guy, I grew up with a NES and dreamcast; however, I've always wanted to dive into my games. I want a machine that can fully flesh out a game to its best. I want to upgrade to the current century! Now here's my build with a few things missing from PCpartpicker because those components were missing from the list. -- http://pcpartpicker.com/user/coolyojosh/saved/Ynm7YJ -- CPU: AMD FX-8320 3.5GHz 8core - Might go for the FX-8350 but most people just say to OC the 8320 CPU Cooler: Be Quiet! Dark Rock Pro 3 MOBO: ASUS M5A97 R2.0 ATX AM3+ RAM: Kingston Fury Black Series 8GB (1x8GB) DDR3-1600 HDD: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM GPU: Radeon Sapphire R9 280X 3GB PSU: Corsair 650W ATX12V / EPS12V 80% Gold Optical Drive: Samsung SH-222BB/BEBE DVD/CD Writer Case: Aerocool Syclone II Black Edition Mid Tower case Chassis Dimensions: 480(H) x 270(W) x 525(D) http://www.xoxide.com/aerocool-sycloniiblackedition-fulltowercase.html Fans: It comes with 2 fans and has one optional for install Front: 140mm Back: 120mm Side: Option to have either a 120mm or 140mm Any recommendations on what doesn't work or what would be better is appreciated! Thank you very much!
