  1. Hey guys, I just got myself a Liquid Freezer II 360 and, while I wait for the O11 Dynamic to arrive to install it, I've been looking at the instructions and some videos and I have some doubts regarding the mounting bracket. It will be cooling a 5900x and I'm quite certain that the offset mounting is to take into consideration the single chiplet cpus but I'll like to be sure since I can't find any info about it. Do you guys have any experience with this?
  2. Ok, just run the in-game benchmark and it mostly seems to be GPU limitations. Going to do some light cpu overclocking also since it was sitting at 5xºC. GPU was hitting voltage limit during the test btw... edit: kk, r23 seems to be ok with a 35.5 multiplier. Need to run a longer test to confirm stability but at least the throttling test went ok. edit2: Runned the benchmark again and it went from ~88% gpu usage in the first few moments to ~94% and after that it kept pinned at 99%. Another title that I also spend some time on is Project Cars 2 and there I'm CPU bound but with a framerate well above 100fps that isn't a concern. the conclusion that I think I'm getting at is that I won't gain that much from the cpu upgrade but I'll need to upgrade it if I go with a new GPU...
  3. I'm installing MSI afterburner, will go for HWMonitor if that thing doesn't work.
  4. @Tristerin, any suggestion on what to run to test it? my current adiction is forza and I think that msi afterburner and forza don't get along too well... Task Manager performance tab says arround 7% so that's useless...
  5. @Slottr, well, mainly gaming 'cause I can't bring myselft to also start programming after work hours, ence the 32Gb for some VM action also, i'm the kind of guy that refuses to close tabs on the browser
  6. Hello guys, Currently I'm running a r7 1700 in a Strix X570-E and 32Gb of 3000mhz(2933@cl16) and a MSI 1080Ti Armor with a 3440*1440 100Hz display. Will updating my CPU to a R9 5900X(when I can get my hands on one) will give my 1080Ti a new life or I'll also have to update it in a not so distance future? Btw, a 620w seasonic m12ii evo PSU should be fine with this cpu upgrade but I might need to replace it when move from the 1080Ti right?
  7. btw, due to the monitor that I'm planning to use, do you guys think that I should wait for the next GPU generation? I'm asking this cause i'm not planning to upgrade my machine in 3 to 4 years at least...
  8. @ExcaliburVII, thanks. As for the case, I'll be building the computer so a little bit more room would be easier for me. I did a build in a phantomM and that was a pain in the a** to do. I was also thinking going m-atx instead of itx (silencio 352 and maximus gene, that's why the c12p) but the only benefit from it would be the 4 ram slots instead of 2(could come in hand due to the vms) since that i'm not going to use any expansion cards beside the GPU. I have a work colleague that's going to buy the same config in m-atx form
  9. Hi guys, I'm thinking buying a new PC were the main focus is Gaming(fps and racing games) around € 1500(without vat, € 1900 with vat). Here goes what I'm thinking of buying: MOBO - ASUS MAXIMUS VIII IMPACT € 194,87 CPU - Intel Core i7-6700K Tray € 298,24 RAM - Kingston HyperX FURY Black DDR4 2400MHz 16GB (2x8GB Kit) € 65,13 COOLER - Maybe Noctua NH-C12P SE14 € 51,68 SSD - Samsung SSD 950 Pro Series NVMe M.2 2280 256GB € 159,58 GPU - EVGA GeForce GTX 980 Ti Superclocked ACX 2.0+ 6GB GDDR5 € 566,39 PSU - EVGA SuperNOVA GQ 650 Watt € 78,57 CASE - Fractal Design Define Nano S € 58,40 CASE FANS - 2 NF-A14 € 35,12 CASE FANS - NF-F12 € 19,53 Total(excl. I'm going to be using computeruniverse.net to buy the hardware so can you guys focus on that website prices. Thanks ps. I'll be running my old Samsung 840 SSD and 24' 2048*1152 60hz monitor but i'm planning to move to a 4k 34' ultra wide later and also use some vms to work stuff.
  10. https://www.google.pt/search?q=phenom+itx+h100i&client=firefox-a&hs=ZEz&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&channel=fflb&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ei=qhk9U5_xFPPo7Aaqr4DYDA&ved=0CAgQ_AUoAQ&biw=1366&bih=638 the h100i is in the list... ps: actually, it's the first item...
  11. The overclock will be with the Asus tool, so the h100i is more than enough.
  12. I don't have the atx board already. Why mitx instead of ATX? small and powerfull, that's why. For gaming the 4670k is more than enought, the 4770k would be overkill for gaming and to put that I had to remove the hdd or go to a 780 instead of a 780Ti.
  13. and another change, this will probably be the final list: Corsair Hydro Series H100i € 81,43 WD Black Desktop WD1003FZEX € 55,88 Intel Core i5-4670K € 173,03 Corsair RM Series 750 Watt € 85,63 BenQ XL2411Z € 234,45 Samsung SSD 840 EVO Series € 105,80 Gigabyte GeForce GTX 780 Ti GV-N78TOC-3GD € 499,16 Crucial Ballistix Sport XT 8GB DDR3 € 50,34 BitFenix Phenom mini ITX € 58,74 ASUS Maximus VI Impact € 159,58 Total Product Value excl. VAT € 1.504,04 He asked me again to do it like it was for me, so that is what I would buy with a 1500€ budget.
  14. Corsair Obsidian Serie 350D € 70,17 Corsair Hydro Series H100i € 81,43 WD Black Desktop WD1003FZEX € 55,88 ASUS Maximus VI Gene (C2) € 133,53 Intel Core i5-4670K € 173,03 Corsair RM Series 750 Watt € 85,63 BenQ XL2411Z € 234,45 Samsung SSD 840 EVO Series € 105,80 Gigabyte GeForce GTX 780 Ti GV-N78TOC-3GD € 499,16 Crucial Ballistix Sport XT 8GB DDR3 € 50,34 Total Product Value excl. 15. I had this sugestion from another forum. I went for the 4770k initialy so he doesn't need to update it ever but I tougth in the 4670k for the first time.
