It shouldnt affect it. But you can never be sure.

If all fail I would use regular paste just to rule that out and then go through all the software things.

    a. missed a spot
    b. made an air bubble
    c. not enough contact
    d. not enough pressure.

try to remount it if possible. and check if there is a driver update. and see if it solve it.

crosstiger got a reaction from Crosseyed Sniper in Battlefield V (Worth Playing Today?) (Plus Deals On The Game)
I cant recommend this game because imo the problems outweighs the good by a lot. Keep in mind this is just an opinion.

The game is completely unbalanced. There is no auto team balance what so ever so it's not unusual that one team is 2-5 people short. Especially in the squad conquest. Very often it's an 8v4 game - which is not fun.

Tanks are super inconsistent in strength. Some are super weak due to the turret rotation speed or damage output (turret rotation speed is super wobbly and “drunken” in first person). It's not uncommon to shoot multiple rounds (4-6) into another tank (Tiger especially) without doing much damage. The locational damage model is something to get used to but super inconsistent and weird to use (for example destroying the tracks of a tank) or shells that ricochet of a tank. - imo this doesn’t belong in this game. Too much randomness for an arcade shooter.

The maps are so clustered with stuff (trees, walls, debris, holes, leaves ...) it's very hard to spot someone. People are extremely well hidden and even on low graphics there is a ton of foliage visible which hides players.

The game looks beautiful but absolutely everything has some sort of animation attached to it. This game creates a bit of its own genre, I would call it "cinematic shooter" and I don’t like that because to much of the cinematic aspect messes with gameplay in the wrong way.

crosstiger got a reaction from GNU/Linus in Why Can't They Fix This?
I had the exact same issue with my Galaxy Alpha. The battery was dead after 3 - 4 hours of idle. It happens extremely random and a restart of the phone fixed it 'til next time. I installed Aida 64 (yes there is a mobile app of it) and took a look at what's going on. I noticed that the cpu was under 100% load constantly and looking at the running services it was the android system itself that consumed all cpu power.

Unfortunately until this date I could not fix the problem since a factory reset and even installing a different os (official Norway os version from Samsung) through odin did not solve the issue. My guess is that some task crashes and causes a very high cpu usage which drains the battery. Which task it is is unknown to me.

Thank you for the response. No one is going to pay $30 for that game. No one is going to pay $20 for that game. It looks like a free to play game to be perfectly honest. I would barely pay $1.00 and I'm the type to give games like that a chance.

crosstiger got a reaction from Leychee in Is there a way to know if my GPU is damaged?
Difficult if it's something that happens randomly and is hard to notice. Is it only in one game, specific situations (like stare at a wall), anything unusual (super high fps, high gpu temps, coil whine)? You could run a test like furmark or a unigine benchmark at very low and very high settings to load the gpu to max or get as many fps as possible and stare at the screen for hours.

A graphic glitch like that could be caused by instable clocks or load in general. For a start you could use afterburner and increase power target and add like 5-10mv. Might not do much but maybe lets you ignore the artifects.

1080p 144hz native, with pixel densening up to 4K 144hz. I'll be getting this tomorrow at a Best Buy not too far from where I live, better than waiting 5 days for shipping.

crosstiger got a reaction from Ignitros in Water Cooling full GPU block for RTX 2070 Founders Edition or MSI Gaming Z?
That is rather the performance uplift from the 2070. While the asus cards are a good choice, at this point I would also suggest looking at the 2080 founders edition + corsair block. At my place I can get the founders edition from nvidia directly for 740€ (~100€ less than the asus model). If I'm not mistaken the nvidia cards are higher binned (better oc).

As for the founders edition I only found a full cover block from alphacool (Alphacool NexXxoS GPX - Nvidia Geforce RTX 2060/2070 (Super) M01) or Corsair (Hydro X Series XG7 RGB-20).

If you would go for ASUS or EVGA you'll get a wider choice of blocks. Haven't had much luck finding one for the msi card.

crosstiger got a reaction from Taintedmind in G-Sync on a none G-Sync Monitor Limiting FPS
v sync is not gsync. V-Sync will limit the fps to the refresh rate of the monitor (eg. cap at 60 or 120). Gsync changes the monitor refresh rate to whatever fps you have. Vsync will always limit your fps and sometime introduce some micro stutter.
You do that. Just make sure to fully uninstall the driver. Use the tool ddu if you dont trust the nvidia uninstaller.

I would also advise to disconnect your internet after uninstalling (before restarting the system) so windows doesnt auto install a driver. Then install the latest driver without internet connection.

But compared to the ASUS ROG Strix G G531GU with an i7-9750H for only ~50€ more? Wouldn't it fall really flat due to that cpu performance different? The Strix also has a bigger battery (same usage time?) and a 2x2 wifi.
