I understand that, the problem is that it doesn't make a difference - I can't reliably tell what a port will do for me just by looking at it or its name, and that is a problem.
As I said, they should have waited, released Type C along with 3.2 and called it a  day. This way we'd know exactly what a Type C port can do for us and what a Type A can't.

If Type C had been a single, well defined standard, sure - but it wasn't, and only now are we starting to get all the features the cable theoretically allows. Nobody was in a rush to get usb 3 on smartphones (even with quick charge we're nowhere near the peak power delivery Type C supports) and waiting a year or two wouldn't have hurt.

Again - why? Couldn't they just wait a couple of years and release type-C at its full potential right away? Instead, we have 3.1 in the middle which comes in two different connector types, one of which also supports thunderbolt... sometimes.

Well it is now open, and so use that instead of USB 3.whatever the fuck so that I can use my DongleBook Pro without dongles

    USB C power in
    USB C to HDMI
USB C to USB A to USB A hub on my monitor to KB/M/external.

I wish they'd just wait 10 years and come out with a single 200Gbps 4.0 standard. Right now 3.0 is good enough for 99% of use cases and fragmentation like this only causes confusion.

themctipers got a reaction from TheMountain28 in WAN/LAN 10/100Mbps what is mean?
LAN 10/100 Mbps just means that it is able to run at 10Mbit, or 100Mbit.
It will probably saturate all 30Mb of your internet over ethernet, but when you get your next router try upgrading to more modern 10/100/1000, or gigabit ethernet..

No idea about wifi as wifi is dependent on what version of wifi it is running at, and not the ethernet ports (wireless g, n, ac, etc)

try going to the nvidia site then selecting your model of GPU then download latest drivers or just let windows handle it

Normally Gabe's stance is that everybody finds something offensive so they normally do not take stuff down.

But in certain cases like borderline porn (particularly child) they do take it down and then they can use the argument that they are a private company and reserve the right to do business with whoever they choose. Who can force them to sell a particular game? It's their choice...

And they do not have a monopoly on PC gaming. Devs can choose to sell on gog, on origin, on battlenet, on uplay or sell directly etc... If Valve had full control of the PC ecosystem then it would be easier to win against them legally. But they just run a store, amongst other stores, and each store can sell whatever the hell they want to. Sure Valve has the most popular and the best store, but they still do not control the platform or even have a monopoly.

    Interesting question.

But the problem is that school shooters are way beyond the point of just having pent up aggression. They are totally fed up with the world, many of them want to die and in the process they just want to exact as much revenge as they can on the world, and on the people who they think oppress them, and then they think finally I will be famous and I will leave my mark. It's just a giant FU to the world.

That state of mind which they have descended into is way beyond pent up aggression.

Keep in mind that Windows 10 (if that is what you are using) comes with it's own bloat. Even if you install a fresh copy it will include several stupid games and a few other pieces of software you did not ask for. Just make sure to uninstall anything you don't want to free up the drive space.

Nonetheless, I never liked the 6 as it’s just an iPhone 5s blown up. It sucks that they knew that the 6000 series Aluminum is susceptible to bending though that’s like saying OEMs know that AMOLED is way more susceptible to screen burn in thus shorter lifespan than IPS LCD and yet they still use AMOLED despite those longevity concerns.

This is because icons are just text in a special font that makes them look like an icon (and you're seeing the text because the font hasn't loaded quickly enough) examples of how these types of icons work you can find here: https://google.github.io/material-design-icons/

it is about 99.9% the same, thicker gauge is better but not worth it when it is just PS2

if it looks garbage, that is because component is garbage, and it was designed for CRT where things aren't as crisp and as sharp and it is slightly blurred, making it seem nicer

If you have all the needed drives you can install zfs on linux(varies by distro, but can be easily done on ubuntu). Then detect the pools and your data should all be there.

PS2 - reliable, people use them, I know I sure did use my PS2 port on my motherboard!

also you can plug in a separate mic and then dedicated speakers like I do

small form factor is limited because small form factor is low demand compared to ATX

there is very small demand for high end wireless mechanical keyboards, and there are out there if you need them, same goes with compact
there are many out there that are budget and made for $, but the main consumers of gaming keyboards are teenagers.

but it can actually output as much, most people will buy what they need and stuff
most desktops don't need a big PSU and it is standard - ATX, if it works it works
