    Congrats

How much undervolt applied? Did you do any repaste?

repasted with mx4; the lenovo factory paste actually performs better than my mx4. weird.

it does get insanely hot with repaste or without though, at least for my standards, 80c+ is good enough in a laptop nowadays apparently..

MX-4 is bad for laptops, that's why

80-90C under load is considered normal for KBL-R

why is it bad? I thought it was a generally good paste just for.. well everything

the first time I repasted it gave me much better temps, second time not so much

it has other stupid software throttling issues, nevermind the temps.

GPU throttles down to 1ghz ish after it reaches 70c, and the CPU likes to throttle down to 800-1000mhz when the dGPU is active, ever, regardless of temperatures

Not suited for low mounting pressure heatsinks since it can dry out quickly (usually in a few hours/days)

Guess you have bad firmware/BIOS which unfortunately, can't do much

I've had it for a month now and it appears to perform better after a bit of time compared to when I just freshly applied it

what do you recommend then? something other than liquid metal, too scary for me.

Personally I wouldn't recommend NT-H1 (heard good and bad things on it in laptops). IC Diamond is good especially for uneven surface

    kyronaut all the way?

You can try it, however make sure the heatsink isn't warped

  10. Evolution.

    Evolution.

just use your own body fluids ffs

I heard IC Diamond isn't good to use directly on die b/c it can scratch.

@DocSwag correct, but it won't do any significant damage
