I wouldn't hold my breathe on that one.  Though I do want AMD to succeed in the GPU department.

my expectations are as long as it's competitive with 2070/2080ish, 2080ti would be nice but .. vega, and polaris, and fiji, and ..

Honestly have it be a cheaper card at or slightly above 2070 performance and that will have impact.  The bigger issue is that Nvidia has so much money to not only pour in R&D but also undercut AMD when it comes to the 2060 and 2050 mid range.

They just need to release a card that can compete while having a better price:performance ratio

preferably i'd be looking at highest end or one notch below (1080ti/1080, but obviously 1080ti because of the perf gap is HUGE)

if it was cheaper though, that's nice, 2080ti is 1.2k USD, so 1.5kish CAD, so 1.8k after tax, no.  not even the 2070 is ok, my budget is like ~$650 CAD which is like, almost a 1080 at this time
