You're both wrong on different things

If you're getting 100 fps on a 144 Hz monitor, you're going to see 100 fps, not 144 fps. There won't be any duplicated frames. Your friend is wrong that IPS panels higher than 60 Hz don't exist. I'm not even sure where the he got that from.

The 2060 super goes for the same price as the 5700 XT which is a faster card

If you have no dust on your exhaust, your intake dust filter is doing it's job. If your GPU is running hot, they issue might be with the type of exhaust fan you have. If you have high static pressure fan(s) for you exhaust fans, swap them to air flow fans (fans with thinner blades). I had a similar issue with my Define Nano S and swapping my fan dropped my temps by 10c.

Ray tracing isn't going to get better anytime soon. Give it like 3 to 5 years, and by that time current gen RTX cards will be very obsolete. The 5700 XT being 30 - 40 pounds more than the 2060 super is worth it.

Yes, because however good he is - his opinion is not the be all and end all.  What looks better is often subjective.

Don't get me wrong, DLSS so far has been junk but as people rightly pointed out - what AMD has implemented is merely a post-process filter.  A good one perhaps and its great they make it public so any developer can use it, but its not even in the same league of what nVidia were trying to do, even if they have so far failed.

There is no one size fits all solution.

Ikr? What's the valid source here? Last I checked youtubers can do solid testing too, them being "some youtuber" doesn't make everything they say bogus. Tech Jesus (GamersNexus' Steve) manages to make hella in depth and very trustworthy content and he's a youtuber.  I think we're a bit past the "youtube is kids and low tier content" phase, have been for... quite a while now.

Except that is EXACTLY what DLSS is supposed to be doing.  It doesn't matter of some YouTuber compares the two and thinks one is better despite being a completely different thing.  Its their opinion and doesn't necessarily reflect the intent of the function.

Yes its useful to know if one thing might perceptually look better despite the fact it probably shouldn't, but it shouldn't be your only consideration.

You mileage will vary from game to game, monitor to monitor, eyeballs to eyeballs.

The problem is Google is skewing news sources, and they are pushing a left wing bias. And Fox News is pretty left biased, and centrist for the most part compared to most of the mainstream media, also CNN and MSNBC constantly smear them, which I think is a serious problem that only contributes to the political division in the US. These companies like Google, Facebook, and Apple need to be platforms not publishers placing a bias on information.

Considering that the media companies in question, Twitter, Facebook, Youtube, etc., are already trying to censor the internet to prevent the spread or communication of ideology opposite that of the people comprising these companies.... I'm calling horse shit on this article.

"alleged but unproven bias" my fucking ass. You can go and see people on Twitter saying blatantly racist things about white people, but a republican posts video of leftist people protesting outside his house and making threats gets taken down?

Fuck that and fuck manners. The left are already trying to censor the internet and the news via their control of large tech companies. They already largely control our major educational facilities. How far are we gonna let this go? Sooner or later it's going to come to bloody conflict.

I'd prefer that not happen. I'd prefer harsh punishments for any organization that is blatantly suppressing the views of their opposition. Up to and including life in prison, for being an enemy of the state. Which I define as anyone trying to subvert or destroy democracy (representative republic, what the fuck ever you want to call it. People have a fucking right to disagree with the state. Anyone attempting to prevent that should be locked up and the key destroyed, as a warning).
Political parties should be illegal, entirely. Either run for office on your own two feet, or fuck off. No paid help, no "volunteers" just you.

This is the initial article of OP's sources. It doesn't present us with this supposed draft.
The other sources ultimately lead back to it as well.
It very likely is. It's the logical outcome of Trump's press conference and the anti-trust hearings over the matter.

We're already seeing some people smearing it as censorship in of itself, either with ignorance or malicious intent. These companies in question are not free to pursue their political censorship and reap the benefits of legislation that is there to protect neutral platforms.
