  1. so, i recently got a new graphics card for my computer. i decided to give my old one to my friend. i went to his house today to install it for him, installed it, for some reason it wouldn't display anything. i tried changing the bios to detect from pci/e and it still didnt work. but this isn't the issue. we ditched trying to put the card in, so i just took it out, plugged everything back in how it was, and now he's not getting sound. its just a bunch of static. we made sure everything was plugged in correctly, i plugged my phone into his speakers and played music, so it was not the speakers. i tried the headphone jack in the front of his computer and in the back, both didn't work. i did install a few graphics drivers previous to this issue to try to fix the gfx card issue, so i decided maybe those drivers had something to do with it, so i uninstalled them all, with no avail. i found that VGA plugs sometimes cause static/feedback to speakers? which we tried to fool around with but it didnt do anything. this never happened to him before so i don't know why it would now. He runs a basic Asus desktop that has no graphics card just the on-board one, same with his sound. I have tried going into control panel>sound to set the audio to its default and that didn't work either. could i have messed something up with the mobo somehow??
