I’m not much of a judge on portraiture, I like the subject. Framing could be better, left arm clipped a bit. I’d probably frame for just the top hand, mic and face. Zoom in on that one eye and really get it prominent and sharp.

There is a fence merchant. You can sell to the Miller, Theresa's uncle, for full price or other Millers for a reduced price. They have to have systems like this (people being able to spot stolen goods) or else the in-game economy would be worthless. In real life people's morals or fear of punishment keep them from stealing stuff, in a game world, these checks don't exist. We have no moral qualm about in-game stealing and we can just reload to avoid punishment if we want to. I'd rather have this system than a free for all where I can steal and sell with impunity and devalue every in-game item.

    The main two reasons that lootboxes will be regulated;

The random nature of the 'gamble', gambling when you know what you stand to win can cause problems but blind gambling is hugely devious.

The majority of people looking in at this from outside the industry still see this industry as being primarily marketed to children, whether or not this is the case doesn't matter, that's the image and part of the reason why regulation will follow.

They are harmful and addictive, and they are used to target mainly younger people. This is wrong. This is different from shopping, I don't buy a pair of jeans then have adverts popping up on promoting fancy new pockets or hem stitching. I don't buy a car and watch as the heads up display begs me to buy accessories for it.

This is a sneaky underhanded tactic that encourages people to pay for stuff, that up until a few years ago, was included in the original purchase. I disagree with this changing of the structure of how games are sold to us and I resent the pyschology employed by these huge corporations to part idiots from their money.

SpriteNo5 got a reaction from noobs guid to marsterrace in Is there any actual reason to get a Nintendo Switch?
It's all about portability. Sometimes I don't have access to my gaming PC and I want truly portable gaming. Mobile gaming is horrible and Switch is now my best option for this. This isn't meant to compete with a gaming PC IMO it's meant to compliment it. Price is relative, I got my Switch for £260 with BOTW and that's not a lot of money. If your budget is more tight and you don't need the portability then it probably doesn't make sense to buy one.

So you can play on the go. I'll be getting this and Skyrim on Switch as I love gaming but travelling, family commitments and work all erode my gaming opportunities. Switch is an excellent opportunity to have truly portable first class gaming. I can double my gaming time if I have a good portable alternative.

I'll be buying this for me PC too obviously, to have the full on experience.

SpriteNo5 got a reaction from Hikaru12 in 60hz,75hz,100hz,120hz,144hz difference in gaming?
I was playing at 1440/144 for a good while, in reality I got around 70-90 in most modern games when maxed. I then went to an ultra wide (1440)  at 75hz Max. I prefer games to look as good as possible and will accept games that dip below 60 if I get the looks.

ATM I'm playing Deus Ex MD, and it runs between 45 and 60 and prob averages mid 50s. It's perfectly fine and playable for me. As long as there's no skipping or stuttering I'm good.

The biggest difference I notice is when a game drops into the 30s, this is very visible to me. 60 to 75 I can't notice. I get some appreciation of 75 up to 100+. But it's not something that I really appreciate too much, I prefer a high resolution and settings and anything above 50 and I'm good.

Agree with most of the above, it happened in my country in the 60's and 70's the unions almost destroyed the economy, Thatcher dealt with them. I'm not arguing for a leftfield socialist society, I believe in capitalism it has dragged more people out of poverty than any other system we have tried. But as with unions and multinationals alike, there has to be a happy middle ground.

in the 60s/70s UK things had moved too far to the left, people took advantage of their union power. Now it has moved too far to the right and companies exploit people and societies far too much, balance needs to be restored.

the one part I disagree with above is the part about health care. Everyone does deserve healthcare, society should provide this, this has to be a base level that we agree to look after each other in this basic way. And if you are working you definitely deserve it. As I said a little bit can be skimmed off the top to pay for this. Once you have a secure and healthy workforce you have higher productivity.

The proof of this is already out there, the most successful countries (measured by population happiness, levels of healthcare, educational attainment, GDP per person) are countries who have strong, but well regulated industry and unions who work side by side. The taxes in these countries, for individuals are high, but the benefit to all of society is obvious. These are Northern European countries, specifically Scandinavia and Germany. They aren't perfect but at the moment, in these regards, they are quite a way ahead of the UK and US.

I'd add that both our examples are overly simplified. Both these changes took place (both coal mining examples in UK and US) because there was a need to modernise our economies. Living standards and wages had risen to the point that it was no longer economical for heavy industry to exist at the same size it had previously. Globalisation and cheap imports killed it. We were also in the process of trying to grow the middle classes so they could consume more. A process China is starting to move through now.

I can't believe people think this is a bad thing. These multinationals take advantage of legal loopholes in almost every country they operate in. They do this to promote poor working conditions, anti competition stances and shoddy environmental practices. They will bend and break the law as much as they can, in the name of profit, until someone stands up to them.

Google broke EU law while trading in the EU, suck it up. The main protagonists behind this investigation (apart from the EU) were other US multinationals who were angry with the practice (Microsoft being one of the loudest).

The US and UK governments are never going to police these companies effectively as they are beholden to their neoliberal string pullers. When they should be protecting their citizens first and foremost. Good for the EU for continually standing up to these companies. None of these companies want to be outside the EU as it is the single most progressive, advanced and wealthy market on the planet. So the EU has real power over these corporations and has a moral obligation to police them accordingly.

For those in doubt - The EU is the largest economy in the world. Although growth is projected to be slow, the EU remains the largest economy in the world with a GDP per head of €25 000 for its 500 million consumers. The EU is the world's largest trading block. The EU is the world's largest trader of manufactured goods and services.

lastly, on a strictly personal note. Thanks to all those utter idiots who voted for brexit who are now going to rob my country of this level of moral protection. * slow hand clap for the braindead.

I got an RM850x, when the RM650x went it was the 3rd Corsair PSU I had and the only one that failed, plus when it went it sounded like a gunshot, it powered down the whole second floor of my house. I had to reset the breaker, I forgot to unplug the supply before I did, when I reset the breaker it sparked and popped again. I really was expecting some component damage.

So when all has survived im quite happy giving this series another chance.

If you are fine with SLI issues (lack of scaling or profiles in some situations?) and the price difference is only £100 then why are you asking? You say SLI no problem, performance is better, price difference is inconsequential and resale value is better. You then ask people to prove you wrong but if the above is all true then for what you want SLI seems to be the only option, and the responses you give seems to suggest you are hugely certain that you are correct, question seems redundant.

M rated (I'm assuming this is equivalent to 18 in EU) is there for a reason same as film classification. I think we need these systems, I'll  watch my son closely when he starts gaming and, as a gamer myself, I'll apply my own classification system.

Most parents aren't gamers so need some sort of guidance.

The main problem you have is an ageing gaming demographic, average age is above 30 now. I grew up in the first generation of gamers and it was squarely aimed at kids back then, it's not anymore. Publishers push games to adult audiences as that's where the buying power is.

I went from a 144hz, 1440 TN panel to IPS 3440*1440 Ultrawide. Get between 40 and 70 FPS now. I'd prefer frames that didn't drop below 50 but I rarely play online anymore and would rather have the eye candy. I'll see if an upgrade to 1080ti (if it ever exists) will give me constant 60 at my resolution @ ultra.

I'm in my early 40's and have been gaming since about 6, you always lose your gaming mojo from time to time. The best thing to do is take a break and have other hobbies. I also cycle so tend to put more time into that over the summer/Autumn and leave hard core gaming for the dark nights.

Having a family also helps as it reduces the time you have to game which means you enjoy the time you have more and it's harder to burn out.

dont keep searching for the high by buying new components/peripherals/games, that's a hollow victory that will soon run out and you'll waste money. Just take a break and you'll come back to gaming refreshed.
