DotoreN got a reaction from sourceofvegemite in Thinking of swapping from Apple to Android...any pros/cons I should be aware of?
K30 pro (or poco F2) looks really promising in terms of value (hardware/price). Just keep in mind that Xiaomi has been in bad daylight recently (link shown below). Even though basically any phone company is involved in tracking data one way or another. It's worth reading into it and seeing how it evolves.
I believe Xiaomi already replied to the "accusations" and claiming some of them were false, but I haven't gone to deep into it.
I myself am looking for a new device aswell and i'm atm considering the OP8 coming from the oneplus 2 myself. My current oneplus 2 cost ~300euro in 2015ish and lasted me 5 years, so i'm really, really satisfied with this brand. It's just that they've become a flagship nowadays, rather than a flagship killer they used to be and thus increased in price. Oneplus also gives 3 years of updates instead of 2 and their OxygenOS is better than stock android. (perhaps a bit biased since i'm a OP user) but a lot of phone reviewers think the same. I just wish OP8 wasn't that big (16cm+) is just.. so large.

DotoreN got a reaction from Fasauceome in Building new pc what can it play?
i5 is too broad. i5 range from 30dollars to 500 dollars or more.
What's your budget, what kind of games do you want to play ? Also are you not planning to get a dedicated GPU?
GPU dictates what kind of games you can play more so than the CPU.

HD559 sounded good (not as good as HD600 and not as comfy either), but def worth it for $70-80. In general you could say the HD600 has more detail and the HD559 has more soundstage (and thus better for gaming), although I find my HD600 fine for gaming.
Maybe look for the HD598/599 as they're about same price (atleast in my country) and a higher tier headphone.
Sennheisers are known for a certain "sound signature", meaning their headphones sound quite different than other headphones. So if you're willing to upgrade to a HD600 eventually, go for the HD558/HD598 (or the updated versions) to get a "feel" for the sound signature. They're also fine without an amp.
I really had to get used to the sennheiser sound coming from a completely different brand (logitech and plantronics) and actually disliked the sennheiser sound the first week. After giving it a good listen, I fell in love with the sound signature and I don't see myself going to another brand anytime soon.
I would just buy them and return if you don't like them. Most webshops allow 30 days to return for free.

byers 990s are really comfortable right out of the box, no clamp issues whatsoever (unlike the HD600 which clamps like hell when unboxed).
Byers 990 250 ohms do benefit from an amp, but there's also a ~30ohm variant which doesn't.
The 990s main problem is treble as they can be really sharp/annoying - the high notes will be really dominant and the mids aren't as forward/clean as I would like. For some people this isn't an issue and if that's the case, I would say it's a wonderful open-back headphone. Another thing to note is that it doesn't have a removable cable, but I don't see how this would be an issue.
Byers 990 or HD558 are probably the best openbacks at that price point.
If you had more money or go for 2nd hand - I would say go for the HD600 (+amp) it is the best headphone i've heard and that includes the HD650, HD660s and HD800, but it's subjective I guess. But gosh do hd600 sound wonderful. Especially comparing it to my headset, I don't even know how I used to think that my old plantronics headset sounded good.

You have to open your laptop to get the disk drive out and replace with a hard drive

DotoreN got a reaction from Lolzious in Why SSD Writes important
You'd be suprised how much data is being written to your ssd unnoticed.
A lot of programs and games write to your ssd constantly, although the data itself is minor, it does still write to it.

DotoreN reacted to robertdenia in Shopping for a new mechanical keyboard.
I already ordered the Rapid with red switches from amazon. Since it's coming from US and I'm in UK I'll wait a while but I hope it's worth. Thanks for your insight -
DotoreN got a reaction from robertdenia in Shopping for a new mechanical keyboard.
If you can get the 6gv2 with reds it's an option (if you wanna try something else than blue)
Rapid & Rapid-i have differences yes. The normal (not backlighted) rapid has Costar stabs same as filco and Rapid-I has some chinese manufactured stab which feel mushy (fact not opinion). So i'd recommend the normal rapid.
Keep in mind that the rapid has TKL (nu numpad), which I like as you have more space for your mouse, you can keep it closer to the keyboard. If you want one with numpad, go for the CM Quickfire XT. It's the same build as the rapid, same keyboard but with Numpad
So yea, i'd say: CM Quickfire Rapid - If you want red switches but no numpad
CM Quickfire XT - If you want red switches, but you do want the numpad
6gv2 steelseries - If you want reds, but can't find/buy the Quickfire XT
CM in general has better build quality than steelseries.
Pick ducky if you want backlighting. I'd pick ducky over the rapid-I

DotoreN got a reaction from Fred Castellum in Need phone recommendations! $300 budget.
If I were to choose a new phone (and also I won't spend more than ~300euro), it'll be probably:
in order:
1. One plus One
2. Samsung Galaxy S4
3. Asus Zenphone
that's what I would pick, ofcourse there are a lot more to choose from, but this would be my pick.
I've owned the Samsung galaxy S2 & S3, and both phones never let me down, that's why the galaxy s4 is in my list. I really love what samsung does. I've never owned or seen a One plus One phone, but after looking through reviews and specs, it really looks like a very powerful & nice phone. It's probably the best value for your money, as it has good storage, camera and processor. And a good processor is a priority when picking phones. Can't get more irritating than to wait minutes to load a fucking app

Hey all, just wondering what games you could recommend that are similar to the Bioshock series. Basically a game with a deep story that ain't too shabby to look at either.
