@Kloaked @Stagea Thanks for getting back. Yeah, I have some equipment that connects to PC via Firewire and not USB. So I will have to make budget for a firewire PCI card

Good afternoon all, I'm trying to build a PC for music production and was hoping you guys could help me out on some recommendations. I don't plan on gaming at all, it will be strictly for production, internet and for media storage. I won't need a soundcard as I have devices that will cover that aspect for me (I will need firewire ports) CPU: I'm told that an i7 would be the best but can I get away with a high end i5 and put the cost on other components? Heat Sink: Anything but the stock cooler but nothing fancy such as water cooling. Motherboard: As long as I have ports for Firewire and USB 3 ports, I'm happy. RAM: Preferably I would like 16GB for my system to future proof my system. Hard Drive: An SSD would be nice, 250- 500GB would be nice. 1TB would be great, but I'm not sure if I'm ready to spend 450+ on an SSD. I also have external hard drives so only need a fast hard drive. Case: Something small and quiet would be nice. Don't need to see the internals so a windowless case would be okay. Power Supply: Nothing fancy but nothing dirt cheap. I hope I've covered all the components, if anyone has any questions or concerns, please feel free to ask. Cheers, Mitchell

Good evening all! I was hoping someone could help me decide on buying a new monitor. I currently have a dual 27 monitor setup and I would like a third monitor. That said, I want to use this monitor for console gaming as well. So I will be limited to 1920x1080 60hz. If it's possible to have multi HDMI interface that would be great, but if I need to buy a HDMI box that's okay as well. My budget is around 200 - 250. Any suggestions? Thanks for the help ladies/gents Cheers, Mitchell Perez

Good afternoon all, My current monitor is a Asus MX279H which is a GREAT monitor in regards to design and display output. My only problem is that there are NO vesa mounts for it. And I'd rather not attempt to makeshift one. A friend of mine has offered to purchase the monitor... That said, does anyone know of a similar monitor with similar specs? Let me know if anything. Price range is $400 - 500 Cheers, Mitchell

Good evening all, I wondering if anyone could recommend a pair of headphones to go along with my recent purchase of the Asus Xonar Essence STX. The sound card sounds great but I know for a fact my current headsets can't drive it (Beats Solo HD - My aunt gave it as a Christmas present and it's the only "high-end" headsets I have at the moment) So anyway, can anyone suggest a pair? No price limit, just strictly what is good and why is it good. I was thinking of the Sennheiser HD 650 but didn't want to checkout until I got some feedback, any help is appreciated. Cheers!

Hey everyone, So I'm nearing the end of my build and just wanted to make sure I didn't mess up my choice of RAM... Case: Corsair Graphite Series 780T Motherboard: Asus P9X79 WS Processor: Intel i7-3930K Heat Sink: Corsair Hydro Series H100i (Replacing stock fans with 2 x Corsair Air Series SP120) Hard Drive: Samsung 850 Pro SSD RAM: 4 x 8GB G.Skill Trident X Series DDR3 2400 (PC3 19200) Power Supply: Fractal Design Tesla R2 Video Card: Evga GTX 980 Is my choice of RAM compatible with this build? I was watching some builds and doing some research and I'm hearing that some people are having issues with 2400Mhz RAM in an X79 build... Is this true? I just want to double check since it's not too late to cancel my order for the RAM and just purchase another. Thanks for the help

Hey everyone, Still having trouble deciding what video card to purchase. Here's my current build: Case: Corsair Graphite Series 780T Motherboard: Asus P9X79 WS Processor: Intel i7-3930K Heat Sink: Corsair Hydro Series H100i (Replacing stock fans with 2 x Corsair Air Series SP120) Hard Drive: Samsung 850 Pro SSD RAM: Haven't decided yet Power Supply: Fractal Design Tesla R2 I'll mostly be doing gaming, but on occasion will do Photoshop or Sony Vegas work. So my question is this. 780ti or 980? And if along the way, if I do decide to get another card, which card will scale better in two way sli? Appreciate all for the help

SSI CEB - Will it fit in my case?
MitchellPerez replied to MitchellPerez's topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
Alright, sounds good. Cheers guys, I just wanted to make sure before I purchased a case and find out it won't fit. -
Hello everyone, I just had a question in regards to my computer build.. I've built a computer before using an ATX form factor motherboard. But recently a thought came up.. My motherboard (Asus P9X79 WS); its form factor states that it's a SSI CEB. Which I actually have never heard of.. I plan on using the Corsair 780T, will the motherboard fit? And if so, which screws do I screw in? Sorry if I sound noob, I just want to make sure before I purchase the case. Let me know if anything.

Graphics Card Suggestions?
MitchellPerez replied to MitchellPerez's topic in New Builds and Planning
Thanks to everyone for all the responses. So it looks like it's either coming down to... A single 980 OR Dual 970 It looks like dual 970's are getting more votes. If this was the case, which 970 card do you guys recommend? Asus, EVGA, etc -
Hello everyone, I'm currently in the process of building a gaming/workstation computer and was hoping on some help on my graphics card selection. Here are the current components: Case: Corsair Graphite Series 780T Motherboard: Asus P9X79 WS Processor: Intel i7-3930K Heat Sink: Corsair Hydro Series H100i (Replacing stock fans with 2 x Corsair Air Series SP120) Hard Drive: Samsung 850 Pro SSD RAM: Haven't decided yet Power Supply: Fractal Design Tesla R2 My budget for the graphics card is roughly around $800 CAD. I want to try and go for the quietest possible build but still do some serious gaming/editing. That said, it won't be a deal breaker if I hear a little bit of the fans, I just want the computer to be as silent as possible. I'll be playing games such as Shadow of Mordor, Crysis, Far Cry etc. I won't be doing any intense editing work, at most just Photoshop and/or Sony Vegas work. Any suggestions on a graphics card would be nice, my friends are suggesting the 780T, but do I get the reference card or non? Cheers in advance for any suggestions

Good afternoon everyone! So I had a question in regards to having dual monitors with built in audio... Before I go on, I will say this: At first I wasn't a fan of built in speakers for monitors since the sound is just horrible. But after my boss convinced me of try the ASUS MX279H, I can't believe how beautiful the audio sounds. Now I plan on buying another one.. So here's the question: If I do decide to go on with the purchase, can I use both monitors for audio at the same time? I don't care about the audio positioning and all that. I simply just want to use both the monitors speakers at the same time. Can this be done? Or am I only able to use one of the monitors speakers. Any help is appreciated

Yup, it was actually Linus' review on the case that really caught my attention. As well his review on the original case I plan to buy (Corsair 780T) He brings up a lot of good points such as the price of the case for what it offers. I'm really liking the H440.. It's honestly coming down to H440 vs 780T..

I do agree that cases that hide PSU and such are really nice. Which is why the H440 really gets my attention, especially the Black and red one. But the only thing I don't like is it doesn't have an optical drive. I'm not a fan of plugging in an optical drive via USB. I just want it there ready. 450D is also a really nice case, perfect sized window. I wish you could custom order a case haha I wouldn't mind paying the extra money for sure.
