GPU folding isn't supported on MacOS
https://foldingathome.org/support/faq/installation-guides/mac/requirements/
You'll need to set up Boot Camp so you can run Windows.
Also thermals is an issue on laptops, especially on that i9 MacBook. Keep an eye on temps.

This and here are some genreal tips for F@H on a Mac. (I am writing this on a 2019MBP14" on 100% thrust F@H)
1. Especially on this i9 guy make sure your MacOS is up to date!
2 Thermals: Best and free fan control unititly for the Mac. Works on bootcamp and MacOS:

I suggest setting it at full blast and propping up the Mac a bit form the table so it can pull air in more easy. This helped me a bunch. Also make sure to turn of the display but diesable sleep when plugged in.
3. Monitor your CPUs Power usage, temp, speeds etc. Works on Mac and Win:

Most important: do a boot camp and F@H there! GPU>CPU most of the time.

hambobolubia got a reaction from minibois in Confused about Arduino (microcontroller) terms
if you want to use it just like an arduino you will have to load a bootloader witch will communicate with the arduino IDE. the best way to do this it normally to use the ISP header (i would suggest you add this to your board) using another hardware device called a ISP programmer witch can be found online fairly cheep or you could build your own using another arduino. once the bootloader is intsalled it will enable your usb port and you should be able to upload a Sketch using the arduino IDE.
here is a link to an old ben heck video that should help https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ncobWc61wL4
