So Comcast wants to take away the unlimited data that the majority of the country has had for the last 7-10 years then sell it back to us for $30 more per month just so we could get back what we had. That's like if someone came into your house and stole your refrigerator, then asked you if you wanted to rent it from them for $30 per month.

    Fuck off Comcast, you're drunk.

    Start, type disk management, open.
    Select GPT if prompted.
Find the black bar with matching size and serial to the HDD in the middle section.
Select then right click on it, select new simple volume.
Follow on screen wizard and leave most of the defaults.
I would recommend giving it a name (label) and you WILL have to assign it a drive path. Such as H for HDD or whatever else you want to use.

When installing programs just hit custom install and when it asks for install location C:\Program files\etc change to H:\Program files\etc.

I think the only thing that happens with malwarebytes is that they prompt you to pay a couple of times when the free premium runs out. I was meaning more towards the bing bars, Mcafee trials, and home page changes a lot of free software is bundled with to add advertising revenue from the included optional software. It is what most people call bloatware or similar.

There are no good guys here per se; they are just companies. But patent trolling is always a bad thing.

As for your examples, they really aren't relevant. Samsung was also the company, that was built and entrusted to rebuild south Korea after the Korean war. There make ships and all sorts of stuff, and is currently responsible for 17% of SK's entire GDP. When you deal with such gigantic companies, there will always be issues.

Either way, the consequences of NVidia's court suits, is bad for the entire industry.

Edited out? Are you accusing me of editing out accusations? Because you'd better prove that!

I have said it is fanboyism to claim that NVidia is winning, based on this news, and supporting NVidia in this insane case, without even understanding it.

I don't like NVidia's business strategies. That does not make me a fanboy, nor that I don't like their products. I give credit where credit is due, and I call companies out on bs, when they do bad things.

Do you have a link for that thread please? I would love to read it.

No one has stated such a thing. However claiming that NVidia is winning, just because a court date and definitions has been set, is quite biased. Remember that OP's source is NVidia by proxy, through anandtech. Can we agree that NVidia is biased on NVidia news?

If there are laughable arguments, it should be very easy for you to debunk them, and lecture people on the facts/reality. So far I've only seen fanboys rooting for NVidia, and hating on Samsung, while showing a disturbing lack of knowledge on this case.

What kind of argument is that? So because NVidia hasn't sued or patent trolled before, it means they never can, and that people are fanboys for claiming so? This is clearly a patent troll, using fundamental patents, they never created themselves (see the link I posted with an overview of the patents, NVidia uses to sue).

Intel has never been a great innovator in graphics. It comes as no surprise, that they license all the tech they need. That is irrelevant to ARM/QUALCOMM/Samsung's cases.

Samsung pays for ARM's IP, that their graphics chips are based on. That is why Samsung says, this is a case between NVidia and ARM.

People are not irrational, because they know more about a matter, or just has a different opinion about it, than you.

@TERAFLOP Finally someone who knows what this is all about!

Their hard work? No it is a fundamental IP, like patenting a clickable button. It was invented by a company, bought by 3DFX, which NVidia acquired. NVidia didn't exist when that patent was filed.

Samsung's graphics chips are based on ARM tech/IP, which Samsung licenses. If anyone is infringing on NVidia's troll patent, it would be ARM. I wonder why NVidia are not suing ARM? Perhaps, because NVidia themselves, license ARM IP's.

Why are you defending such an insane patent infringement case?

I did read the article. Along with many others. This is preliminary definitions, that ha been settled. NVidia calling it a winning, is plenty biased. Fair enough Because this is grade a patent trolling, which is not only very damaging for the entire GPU business (primarily the mobile markets), as well as suing Samsung for their use of ARM IP, instead of suing ARM, which holds these so called infringing patents/tech.

You are saying things that are nice but in reality does not do anything.  Look at AMD's own Mantle API which does the same thing DX12 does.  Mantle did NOTHING for the most part for AMD's own high end CPUs.

tmlhalo reacted to MuffinTopMike in Are the people at HP high....?
To be honest your argument has just reached the point of making assumptions about people who buy those types of computers. The original argument was, that at the $300-350 price point that those budget HP computers are the best value for money in terms of quality and performance. Members like @ proved that HP computers have a pretty poor track recorded in terms of reliability. Carey in his second video, and other members posted possible PC builds which were much cheaper than the HP and overall would have performed better, but then you said most consumers have no interest in building their own computer, which is a fair point. But then when I posted that Centre Com computer, which would be more reliable and perform better, you assumed that consumers wouldn't notice the difference between the performance of the two, and you assumed the average consumer has never heard of Centre Com, or would ever research about computers before they buy. So now the argument has turned into "Which computer is best if you only have $350 to spend and you have only heard of one computer brand, which is HP."

As other have said. I'm just going to add more steps in case you need them.

Start, type "disk management", top result should be it.
Once it opens it might prompt you to format the drive as MBR or GPT. Pick GPT.
There will be a black bar that matches the drive you wish to use in the middle of the screen.
Right click to select it then left click to open the menu. Choose new simple volume.
Follow the onscreen wizard leaving most of the defaults. You might want to assign it a different name besides New Volume when it asks for drive label. You DO want to assign it a drive letter when it asks you for that. Any letter will do as long as that letter isn't already in use.
