  1. Same issue here with Nexus 6p. I have Shure SE210 and a Samsung OEM earbuds, both opening voice search randomly when plugged in. I googled around, and it looks like we are not the only ones (nor the only phone) with this issue.
  2. This will probably be my next phone. Absolutely love the design!
  3. You just made me watch 37 minutes of advertisements. Willingly.
  4. Linus made a overview video on Spyder products (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r7pLuX1fZsk). It seems like NCIX offers cheaper price than what you listed in your post (http://www.ncix.ca/search/?categoryid=0&q=spyder), but I don't know whether NCIX ships to Australia.
  5. The reason why I didn't buy Arma 3. I loved Arma 2, but seeing how poorly it performed even years after release, I decided not go put up high hopes for Arma 3 in terms of performance.
  6. I preferred Arkham City to Arkhma Origins. AO has so many game breaking bugs, it makes you wonder how it passed the QA testing in the first place. Floors that disappear into the infinite black pit, Burnley Tower that cannot be escaped, Batman just refusing to interrogate "Bird" or enigma's informants after beating them, Batman and Bane refusing to fight each other at the very end boss fight (I had to re-start the fight 4 times just because of the bug), no "Crime in Progress" on Pinoneer bridge (so you cannot complete the challenges), etc. Storyline wise, AC felt longer and more complex. The story develops gradually and keeps you guessing what enemies just as Joker, Strange, or Raj up to. It also had a pretty huge plot twist at the end. With AO, it tells you right off the bat, "Here is a list of boss fights you will need to do." That's pretty much it for the story. It felt short and a bit disappointing. To give AO some credit though, I liked the larger map design (although I thought the buildings would be higher, since the devs put so much hype into how big the map and the buildings were). The voice acting was also very good, as always with Arkham series.
  7. hmm the vertical field of view seems to be narrower than a single 1080p set up for some reason. Might be just an illusion, but can OP comment of this?
  8. They weren't silent for me. I have 3 of them, and they are quiet loud at 12 volt 1500 rpm. Personally, I needed to limit the rpm to ~1000 to make them quiet, but they were still louder that Noctua NF-P12 at similar rpm. The good thing about AP123s though, is that the "directional flow" thing really works well. They also undervolt well. I would actually look into AP121s rather than AP123s. Based on the spec on Silverstone website (don't personally have AP121 yet), it has higher static pressure, higher air flow, and lower noise level than AP123s. I don't see a reason to choose AP123 over AP121.
  9. Setup: I have 1 Crucial M4 SSD for boot drive, which I bought since SSD is the way to go nowadays for OS, and also because it was on a massive sale. For storage, I have 1TB Seagate Barracuda + 500GB WD Blue drive. I got these from someone who had extra drives lying around, so I don't really have a good reasoning for using them. Space on my storage is running out, and I'm currently looking for higher capacity drives to replace (or add to) the existing drives. This giveaway might be the solution =) Twitter link: https://twitter.com/adotkdotjh/status/375160692992507904 (@adotkdotjh)

  11. Yeah it's weird. If I change the "main display" to the monitor connected to the iGPU, then iGPU becomes the one that runs heaven benchmark (even when the heaven benchmark is on the monitors connected to the dedicated gpu). I read somewhere that in Windows 8, the GPU to which the "main display" is connected is used for hardware accelerated graphics (or something similar). I can't find where i read it though...
  12. Is that when you have 2 dedicated gpus? Cuze when i tested with 1 dedicated + integrated gpu, all work done for the monitor connected to the intergrated gpu was actually done by the dedicated gpu (which powers the "main display"). For ex, when I run Heaven benchmark on the monitor connected to iGPU, GPU-z tells me that GPU load of the iGPU is at 10%, where as the dGPU's load is at 97%.
  13. It's more to do with the fact that gold is more stable than copper or silver. Copper and silver tarnishes over time, whereas gold does not, so gold can provide more reliable connection in the long run (at least in theory). I don't know if gold's malleability could be a factor, since i expect the plated layer to be incredibly thin. I don't know why Linus always says it's because of gold's malleability.
  14. Interesting. I hope manufactures would look into it more. Imagine LCDs without motion blur. That being said, if you still regularly use CRT, i have mad respect for you for putting up with that heavy-bulky-low resolution-heater for the sole pursuit of no motion blur.
  15. I never understood that either. They can make a entire PHONE with 1080p display smaller than 5" under $600. They make a 4k larger than 50", and the price goes astronomical.
