  1. sorry to break it to you guys :'D. we found a EVGA GQ 650w for roughly the same price as the XFX unit and went for that. but thanks anyway
  2. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817207038&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-PCPartPicker,%20LLC-_-na-_-na-_-na&cm_sp=&AID=10446076&PID=3938566&SID= it's for a friend of mine :3c, a rad platypus one , and it's for her rig which will be a Xeon E3 + R9 390 and some drives.
  3. I should hang around this place more....i kind of burned out after 1000 posts

  4. AY I GOT A HD 7970GHZ 6GB :D. (280X pretty much) it's awesome! :3 but i could recommend a 390, the extra performance will be worth it
  5. Well considering the R9 290X/290 are still able to kick butt (competing with the GTX 970) despite being 3 years old, i say your 980TI should still kick butt at that res for a good long time :D.
  6. I wouldn't be too trusting, it'll likely be a lower end CM unit in there, and CM are not good with the lower end of their PSU's.
  7. EVGA's G2 or GS would be probably the best all around option for you
  8. 750W for a single 970 and i5 build is far more than enough, infact you could SLI 970 and OC the i5 and be fine with that too. Remember a 3 way 980 build pulled about 600W so that should be an indication of the headroom you should have.
  9. So i've bought some new fans for my case (Corsair ones) and im wanting to mount them using rubber mounts, how good are they really at reducing noise compared to standard screws?
  10. Just bought a Corsair AF140 for spooky :D

  11. I've tested the pro kit which turned out to be just fine, though i did test out the vengeance kit and found sometimes if i put it in a paticular spot it doesn't work.
  12. Well earlier my Bios resetted to the backup bios (which i think you get on a lot of mobos i know Gigabyte ones) which i think fixed the CPU voltage issue. i've not changed any drivers lately (updated my AMD drivers last week) also Speccy keeps telling me my memory is running in triple channel, then telling me it's running in dual channel. im worried maybe my cpu memory controller is bust :<
  13. MOBO: Gigabyte X79-UD3 OS: Windows 7 Ultimate 64Bit RAM: 2x4GB Corsair Vengeance Pro + 2X4gb Corsair Vengeance , Both Running at 1600MHZ, XMP Enabled Hmm so i'm having a bit of an issue here with ram :c I noticed i was getting some slow down earlier today, opened up windows properties and noticed it said the installed RAM was only 4GB, after restarting it went upto saying 8GB, and then after reseating some RAM the BIOS is now saying it's 12GB, I've tried replacing the Corsair Vengeance's (standard ones) with the other 2 sticks of corsair vengeances i have but to no avail. Also earlier that day i noticed my CPU was running at a slightly higher voltage than normal, even on default settings (1.25 compared to it's stock 1.175) Anyone have any clue what could be causing this? i did recently install a Noctua NH-D14 and im worried i could have damaged my CPU. or the pins on the socket, do i need a new motherboard? or could this maybe be windows or BIOS related, i did get a message saying something about BIOS sectors not matching up to OS or RAM sectors or such.
  14. So guys, I bought a NH-D14 for my 4820K but this wont be coming with paste likely since it's 2nd hand, I have some cooler master E2 thermal paste laying around but would it be worth buying some IC Diamond or Arctic Silver 5?
  15. Though i dont have a 4GB 960 (I have a AMD version C: ) my friend has a 4GB 960 with her rig (FX 8320 , 24GB RAM , 4GB 960) and she actually really loves it.
  16. Sorry for the double post but. Corsair AF120? I found a combo deal for them on amazon.
  17. >8) and some jelly !. so i have one of my favorite OTP's (and favorite sandwiches > ) in terms of CFM performance and acoustics, that akasa fan i mentioned seems to do the best. but im not sure if the quality will be all there?
  18. So i need sooome fan help :'), specially with me modifying my Z11+ to make it into a RADDER CASE than it already is, http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/508984-case-modification-idea-full-of-inconsistencies-but-yeah/#entry6789053 http://sta.sh/0158toyioaqy Now i've been wanting to get a new Intake fan and 2 new fans for the exhaust at the top, and i've found me a good fan for my intake, but i want to be 100% SO IMMA ASK YOU BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE C8 Intake so this is the fan i'm going to be possibly getting for my intake https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/part/aerocool-case-fan-shark140mmblueedition but other fans i was considering was So if any one of the other fans i was looking at is better, please tell me :3 and tell me why. Exhaust https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/part/antec-case-fan-truequiet120ufoblue I was considering this fan, and running it at the lower RPM , since im thinking it might just be better to run the exhaust fans at lower RPM since they don't need to spin as fast?. but again any better than please recommend Budget wise, about 10 quid (Pounds) a fan i can stretch a bit if the other option is a much better alternative . Though, would it be worth it to see if i can find a way to get a 200MM fan into my case?.
  19. Damn thats a pretty good deal, worth the stretch :3. also i couldn't find a fully solid choice of z97 or z87 board on PCP :') so i just thought i'd play it safe and go with H97 then just go Z170 for when i7 time comes. but pretty much go for the msi board that was linked, that should be good.
  20. http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/part/gigabyte-motherboard-gah97md3h Would this be a good recommendation? t
  21. Good CPU to go with an R9 390? anything i5 4430/4440/4460 and up , just depends on your budget. if you don't intend on OCing then a 4460 or 4590 or a Xeon E3 1231V3 would be down your alley . if you want to OC then i'd see if you can find a deal on a 4690K if not then get a 6600K :3.
