  1. sorry to break it to you guys :'D. we found a EVGA GQ 650w for roughly the same price as the XFX unit and went for that. but thanks anyway
  2. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817207038&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-PCPartPicker,%20LLC-_-na-_-na-_-na&cm_sp=&AID=10446076&PID=3938566&SID= it's for a friend of mine :3c, a rad platypus one , and it's for her rig which will be a Xeon E3 + R9 390 and some drives.
  3. I should hang around this place more....i kind of burned out after 1000 posts

  4. AY I GOT A HD 7970GHZ 6GB :D. (280X pretty much) it's awesome! :3 but i could recommend a 390, the extra performance will be worth it
  5. Well considering the R9 290X/290 are still able to kick butt (competing with the GTX 970) despite being 3 years old, i say your 980TI should still kick butt at that res for a good long time :D.
  6. I wouldn't be too trusting, it'll likely be a lower end CM unit in there, and CM are not good with the lower end of their PSU's.
  7. EVGA's G2 or GS would be probably the best all around option for you
  8. 750W for a single 970 and i5 build is far more than enough, infact you could SLI 970 and OC the i5 and be fine with that too. Remember a 3 way 980 build pulled about 600W so that should be an indication of the headroom you should have.
  9. So i've bought some new fans for my case (Corsair ones) and im wanting to mount them using rubber mounts, how good are they really at reducing noise compared to standard screws?
  10. Just bought a Corsair AF140 for spooky :D

  11. I've tested the pro kit which turned out to be just fine, though i did test out the vengeance kit and found sometimes if i put it in a paticular spot it doesn't work.
  12. Well earlier my Bios resetted to the backup bios (which i think you get on a lot of mobos i know Gigabyte ones) which i think fixed the CPU voltage issue. i've not changed any drivers lately (updated my AMD drivers last week) also Speccy keeps telling me my memory is running in triple channel, then telling me it's running in dual channel. im worried maybe my cpu memory controller is bust :<
  13. MOBO: Gigabyte X79-UD3 OS: Windows 7 Ultimate 64Bit RAM: 2x4GB Corsair Vengeance Pro + 2X4gb Corsair Vengeance , Both Running at 1600MHZ, XMP Enabled Hmm so i'm having a bit of an issue here with ram :c I noticed i was getting some slow down earlier today, opened up windows properties and noticed it said the installed RAM was only 4GB, after restarting it went upto saying 8GB, and then after reseating some RAM the BIOS is now saying it's 12GB, I've tried replacing the Corsair Vengeance's (standard ones) with the other 2 sticks of corsair vengeances i have but to no avail. Also earlier that day i noticed my CPU was running at a slightly higher voltage than normal, even on default settings (1.25 compared to it's stock 1.175) Anyone have any clue what could be causing this? i did recently install a Noctua NH-D14 and im worried i could have damaged my CPU. or the pins on the socket, do i need a new motherboard? or could this maybe be windows or BIOS related, i did get a message saying something about BIOS sectors not matching up to OS or RAM sectors or such.
