  1. Awesome... Go me. Well i suppose i will let everybody know how it goes.. fail.
  2. Hey all, So I killed 4 4tb seagate hdd's... Somehow I managed to supply +12V to the +5V pins... Oops. Can I replace the controller board, or is the whole drive toast? All important data was backed up, but still 4 4tb drives is like $600. Good news is that 2 of the drives are still under warranty until mid-January 2016. Thank, Josh
  3. Sure did! 1.415 Vcore, thermaltake 3.0 360mm AIO liquid cooler and noctua ppc 3000rpm fans. edit: Working on my R15 score, working great at 4.7, cranked it up to 4.8 and no go.
  4. 5760 x 1080 CPU - 4930k @ 4.7 Ghz GPU - 1100 core\ 1850 memory Average FPS - 60.9 Score - 2546 Setting - Ultra Custom (surround)
  5. CPU - 4930k @ 4.6GHZ GPU - 1175Mhz core/1890Mhz memory Average FPS - 86.6 Score - 3622 Setting - 1440p Ultra Pickup up a Dell ultrasharp 27" 1440p screen on CraigsList for $125. Not to bad. I honestly can't decide if I like this more than my Asus VG248QE 144hz monitor...
  6. NF-A14 industrialPPC-3000pwm They move some air...
  7. For single 1080 displays, yes a third card is not beneficial. But i was able to do a test with a pcie riser ribbon cable to get that third card away from the other two. In 5760, I was able to get 30% more fps in crysis 3. And unigine valley scores went up a good bit also. So let's say I do invest in the water cooling stuff... How long will I be able to maintain top tier performance?
  8. CPU: 4930k @ 4.625ghz (125x37) GPU: SLI 780Ti Average FPS: 133.5 Score: 5586 Setting: Extreme HD
  9. Yes... and I took my time and did a whole computer clean and dust while I was at it... I think I did a splendid job too... I ran each individual gpu in slot 1 and ran Valley 1.0 on extreme HD with mild overclocks---> all scored about 3100-3200 give or take a bit... I than ran every combination of 2 way SLI and results were all similar... Significantly higher the the 3930k SLI benchmarks.... (all this with GEN3 PCIe mode) What was really weird is that the ASUS q-codes would be 94 or 96, but it was a total coin flip as to whice code it threw after a restart... I did get it to boot into windows once or twice, but the nvidia drivers would not load, and the screen defaulted to like 720p or less... Most of the time it would blue screen before I had a chance to run some simple tests... Once I was able to get into device manager, windows recognized all three GPU's, but on was disabled... "Windows has detected and problem and disabled this device" (code 43) I uninstalled all benchmarking utilities and overclocking software (nvidia drivers, precision X, asus AI suite, fraps, unigine, gpuz, etc) I reinstalled the chipset driver and the intel MEI. Still no luck.... I was reading through the motherboard book, and there is an option the manually select the PCIe revision mode (GEN1, GEN2, GEN3) I thought what the heck, I'll set it to GEN2 and see what happens... Sure enought everything worked fine.... BUT--->>> why won't it work with PCIe GEN3??? the MOBO, GPU's and CPU are all PCIe GEN3, so what gives??? I haven't found the time yet to do a fresh rebuild, becuase the computer has several RAID arrays, plus i have a decent size home-network set up and several other computer depend on this computer to be up and functional I would really like to dig deep and figure this out, becuse I didn't by a 4930k to dumb it down to PCIe GEN2... Help greatly appreciated, -Josh
  10. Yeah, I live right by CSU, small world... Been working on the tweeking, but i can't get it much above that score.... This is all with stock air too...
  11. Still trying to figure out 3-way SLI.. EDIT: CPU: 4930k GPU: Average FPS: 131.8 Score: 5516 Setting: Extreme HD Must have been a fluke... Forgot to screenshot GPU-Z... I can't seem to get my score back above 5400~ or so...
  12. I sure hope not... Many things are better, but there must be a solution... both CPU's support 40 PCIe lanes, the only difference is rev. 2.0(3930k) vs rev. 3.0(4930k)... It is going to be something simple I'm sure...
  13. I did check, they are PCI bus enumeration and PCI bus assign resources... They manual doesn't really have troubleshooting steps for those codes Looked up on google, but could not find a similar situation. Has latest bios, And i did a clear CMOS also. Running corsair dominator platinum 1600mhz 4x8gb. i was able to overclock the cpu a good bit. 2 way SLI yielded a significantly higher heaven 1.0 extreme HD score compared to the 3930k setup... (3930k = 5000, 4930k = 5500)
  14. Hey all, So I just upgraded my CPU from a 3930k to a 4930k on ebay. I had a nice 3-way SLI with 780ti's. With this new 4930k, I keep getting a q-code 94 or 96 on my Asus p9x79ws board. Everything else is the same, and I reset the bios also. I originally had a 4 port sata expansion card along with the 3-way sli and 3930k. Now with or without the sata card, I still get the q-code 94 or 96.... Any help would be great! -Josh
