the thermal pads on it are just old probably? And i dont just mean normal hot. I mean HOOOOOT. Like burn the piss out of you hot.

Hello friends. Got a sweet deal on a sapphire dual X 7970 that had no fans. After removing the shroud and putting on some quality fans my core temps are great but mr vrm is hot as ballz. im looking for a way to fix this without spending lots of money. The problem is that sapphire just used thermal pads and the support plate. no heat sinks. actually might not be the Vrm im not sure.. its the square portions above the core in this picture. Ive got lots of cpu heat sinks. NB heat sinks and some closed loop coolers. Maybe i should zip tie something up?

Hello friends. I'm trying to cool a server that uses an LGA 1150 socket cpu. A hyper 212 evo isn't doing the trick because of the high ambient temps (upper to mid 80s F). I was thinking of getting a H100 but I don't know how many hours of continuous use its rated for. This needs to run 24/7 for a few years. without too much maintenance. Also custom loop is NOT an option.

the motherboard doesnt output video at all and doesnt support USB flash. I got it refurb from newegg. The manufacturer doesnt send out chips with the latest update. and the only place i could find to do it charges $150 and takes 5 days. -

cant afford to right now. also i live in middle TN... We dont really have computer stores... I'm surrounded by (shudders) walmart computer buyers. im not entirely sure either... I can try im just worried about bricking the old mobo (it has an A10 on it) and not fixing the new one (with the Pentium G) -

For the sake of saving time im going to just say Mobo A and Mobo B For fun I bought the Pentium G3258, the mobo (mobo A) needs a bios update to use it. Mobo B is a nearly identical FM2+ (amd_ motherboard with an AMD CPU. Both motherboards use the same bios chip. What I'm thinking of doing is sacrificing mobo B for mobo A. I have the bios for mobo A on a flash drive. I insert the drive into mobo B and update the bios to the Bios for mobo A. Then I move the flashed bios chip over to mobo A. Success? So problem solved... Ends up the manufacturer had the bios chip in upside down ........

After all of my bad experiences with my 4790k I won't be going "team blue" again. I have no issues gaming with 4k only streaming. That would definitely be interesting. I'm guessing there is a motherload of tutorials on how this is done?
