Lower resolution, use something like Optifine, and you should be in business.
resolution is the least of your problems with minecraft on a low end system, trust me.

Minecraft
no, not at all.

well, could be a solder joint..
could also be someting more complex like a component thats wearing out, and hitting it snaps it out of its stuck position.
cant hurt to pop it open and inspect for flaws tho.

So, it performs the same at 1440p?
the specific game you see there is probably the most configurable game i've seen ever.
after some tinkering with it at 1440p, i set it to run 60fps (vsync) with roughly 80% gpu usage to allow for spikes in usage without fps drops.
even when putting it that big (which btw, the monitor on the right is 1440p) it remains the same gpu usage.
it may be that i'm looking at one of the most beautiful gems of a well coded game on the face of the earth, or it may be that resolution changes next to nothing...
i'd have to do more testing to find out the details here.

Wait... 40Mbps? Bro, forgive me, but that doesn't sound particularly promising. What are your download speeds(in MB, not Mb)? Because my router offers 300Mbps over W-Fi(obviously, I'm not downloading things at 35MB/s, but it's still faster).
well.. both my wifi and the powerlans are rated at "300Mbps" but the powerlans provide 40Mbit reliably wherever i plug them in, i've never had more than 35-ish on the wifi
on cable, i get my full rated speeds of 200 down 12 up. (up speeds are shyte here, rip belgium) within 10% margin the ISP allows.
should also burst your bubble that for both the powerline stuff, and wireless stuff has their rated speeds tested in "laboratory conditions" you couldnt even reproduce at home if you tried to.
-
could just put them both in a seperate subnet and double NAT them.
thats how my ISP actually wants me to do it. (they have good reasoning behind not offering a way to disable the router in their modems, its quite a complex topic so i'll not get into it)

Can you recommend any powerline adapters?
http://www.tp-link.com/en/products/details/cat-18_TL-PA4010KIT.html
i have a pair of these, as do two of my friends, and they perform mediocre compared to a cable, but they seem to be VERY resilient to bad wiring between them.
they also dont sync up with new powerline adapters automatically, allowing you to set up seperate "groups" if you'd ever run in a situation where that's needed.
(my pair pulls a smooth 40Mbps with a tiny bit of extra ping trough 3 fuses and a massive mess of wall wiring. it actually performs better than sitting next to our wireless access point that cost more than a pair of them.)
-
It's a USB adapter, actually.
trust me, i have my fair share of experience with those...
i like usb adapters that much i just set up a second pair of powerline adapters so i dont have to use wifi on my raspberry pi when i plug it in downstairs...
-
thats pcie wifi adapters for you.
theres some decently good repeater i've been eyeing myself.

that said, if you have the option of going wired, you should defenately go wired.
-
well, you'll get more pixels
if you want more pixels, it'll be an improvement.
-
if you are planning on a future build, its useless to go this exact on picking parts now.
for all you know next year nvidia's new cards launch, and they double the performance of this generation.
or maybe SSDs drop prices like crazy (they say 2016 is gonna be the year of the SSD)
-
most power supplies have a "4+4 pin" (two halves)
if thats not the case, try plugging the 8-pin in the 4-pin header. it'll only go in one way, and as long as no other components are in the way it should work as intended.

Well, I dont have Flash installed and I cant watch any video on Twitch so it apparently doesent work. I can watch Youtube or Vessel without any issue.
Doesent Chrome actualy have Flash installed by it self?
youtube is full on html5 if supported.
and yes, pretty sure it does.
-
I don't think so, are you on mobile?
HTML5 for sure. Working just fine on Google Chrome.
unless i missed something, the video element itself is still flash, but the controls are html5

i dont even wanna think about the hours i logged on trackmania nations forever in class...
i pretty much had two years worth of boring classes where a group of us did nothing but trackmania

i know dell and hp boxes can be picky on the ram you put in them, but i doubt it'll be a problem to put dell/hp ram in other boxes.

But he needs a crossover cable to connect thos...oh im fuckin with you. Yeah crossover cables are not necessary in todays world. My teacher seems to still think we need them though.
please no strangle me.
in today's world a crossover cable is only "legacy" and "good practisce"
because a straight works, doesnt mean its the way it should be done, but for home setups.. eh...

on topic: unless its extremely awkward to hold (like logitech mice designed for righties) it should be fine.

the issue isnt the system ram speed, the issue is you're accessing it over the pci express bus.
