Knowing him he probably needs to clean it out anyway so I will have to ask him when the last time he cleaned it. I still have no way of clarifying if it actually is throttling because I do not know what the normal temperature range of operation is.

I think everyone can't read/has forgotten about the regular Titan and are auto-appending an X.
    Pulled from the Nvidia forums.

I guess that pretty much confirms it to be credible. Thanks to everyone who has posted I really appreciated your help.

I'd take that guy's word for it then, he got the max temperature right and usually it does mean throttling as my 290 has a max temp of 94 and throttles at that.

You cant really tell if its thermal throttling simply by the fan speed percentage. I find the way the Crimson Drivers does automatic fan controller to be lousy in comparison to using MSI Afterburners user defined automatic fan profile. Your fans could be spinning at 20% while your GPU is melting. This happened to some people because of a glitch in early Crimson Driver builds were fan speed was locked at only 20% at all time while on automatic. Do you know what your temps are?

After the 200 series xfx stopped it.

jayztwocents made a video about the a10 7850k being barely capable of playing bf4, while overclocked at 1080p, but if you have budget limits look for some slightly older gpus, Anything past a 380 will bottleneck on the fm2+ platform though.
