Yeah I have been using the same installation media and never really thought that could be the problem. I'm downloading a new one now. If I reinstall again, and have the same issues, I'll check hardware more extensively and come back here.

Sounds like thermal throttle in either the CPU or VRM's. That board has a pretty weak VRM for the 8350.

Your motherboard will probably clock them at the lowest speed, so if one is 1333 and the rest and 1600 they will probably all be lowered to 1333

I don't know why, but I always get angry when someone says this (they mostly do this when they're talking about an Intel processor)

A friend of mine and myself.

Friend: I think I need to upgrade my PC, the CPU isn't that powerful.

Me: Really? What CPU does your computer use?

    Friend: The i5.

    Me: Which i5?

Friend: You know, the Intel i5...

Me: BITCH INTEL HAS BEEN MAKING GODDAMN I5 PROCESSORS SINCE 2009. THERE'S OVER ONE HUNDRED F'IN I5 MODELS THEY HAVE MADE! YOU BETTER GET SPECIFIC RIGHT NOW I WILL SMASH THE SHIT OUT OF YOUR COMPUTER AND READ THE MODEL OFF OF THE CPU IHS, THEN SMASH THAT THING ON YOUR HEAD YOU STUPID SHITHEAD!

About this time last year I had a friend want to build a pc and asked me for advice. I created a list for him with the approximate budget and he said it would probably be a while until he could do it. So after a while I just assumed that he probably wasn't going to build his own pc for whatever reason and I haven't talked to him in a while. Then today he tells me that he order the parts, so of course I ask him the specs somewhat surprised (Since I made the list a year ago I wondered if he was using that same outdated list). He said he made his own new list with a "i5 3.5ghz" and a 750 ti.... I ask specifically what processor but all he knows is i5 3.5ghz, which narrows it down to a 4690. He doesn't appear to know much about what he's doing so I have a bad feeling I'm going to have to fix up any mistakes he makes...

How to: format USB flash drive not showing up on computer

A member had a problem with one of his USB flash drives.
Something went wrong when he formatted it with a format program to turn the flash drive into a linux live drive.
As a result of this his USB flash drive no longer showed up in the "computer" folder. The USB flash drive did show up on the windows 7 Disk Management but it was grayed out and he could not format it via the Disk Management.
This tutorial will fix the problem by formatting it using diskpart.

WARNING: You will lose all data on the USB flash drive!

    Step 1:
type "diskpart" in the windows search bar and open the program, preferably by right-clicking and selecting "Run as administrator".

    Step 2:
Once you opened diskpart you will need to type in the following command: "list disk"
This will list all the Hard drives and USB flash drives connected to the computer.

    Step 3:
Locate you USB flash drive by looking at the size of the drive in the list, make sure you remember the Disk number. In my case it's a 32GB flash drive, so mine is the 29GB drive listed as "Disk 8"

WARNING: Don't continue to step 4 unless you are 100% sure that you have the right drive or you will clean the wrong drive!

    Step 4:
Select the troubled USB flash drive by typing the command: "select disk (insert the drive number here without brackets)"
In my example it is Disk 8.

    Step 5:
Now you must clean the drive by giving the "clean" command.

    Step 6:
Next thing you need to do is create a partition with the command "create partition primary"

    Step 7:
Now you need to select the partition you just created by giving the following command: "select partition 1"

    Step 8:
Last step, you need to format the flash drive with the following command: "format fs=ntfs label=USB quick"

    Victory:
    You can close diskpart.
The drive will now show up on your computer listed as USB formatted with the NTFS file system.

jav26122 reacted to Enderman in R9 295x2 is more powerful then a titian x, updated
First of all, comparing a dual GPU to a single GPU is stupid. You might as well compare it to two titan Xs and watch them crush the 295x2.

Second, the $1000 price tag is because it is the MOST POWERFUL GPU IN THE WORLD. The 295x2 is two GPUs not one.

Third, You can only put two 295x2s in a system, but four titan Xs, obviously outperforming it.
Even three titan Xs outperform two 295x2s.

Fourth, the titan X uses less power and creates less heat, which is important to people sticking 4 GPUs in a system.

Fifth, the titan X is not meant for people who talk about performance per dollar. If you are considering how much performance per dollar you are buying then you should obviously not look at $1000 graphics cards.

jav26122 reacted to Rohith_Kumar_Sp in Magnetised graphene could see a "million-fold" increase in hard drive storage
Scientists in the US have figured out how to magnetise large areas of graphene, which they say could revolutionise our current technique for storing data.

Graphene the wonder-material has got some pretty strange properties, but one of the most unexpected is magnetism. Over the past 10 years, researchers have been intensely investigating the various characteristics of this multi-purpose material - made from multiple stacks of 1-atom-thick carbon layers - and have only been able to explain its occasional magnetism though manufacturing defects or through the binding of certain chemical groups that give it this property.    But making graphene reliably electromagnetic - and therefore usefully electromagnetic - has proven difficult. Until now, because a team from the US Naval Research Laboratory have just figured out how to achieve what they’re calling "a simple and robust means to magnetise graphene" over a large array of the material, and they do it using plain old hydrogen.    The technique, which they’ve outlined in the journal Advanced Materials, involves sitting some graphene on a silicon wafer, which they will submerge in a pool of cryogenic ammonia and lithium for about a minute. They then add hydrogen atoms to the mix, which renders the graphene electromagnetic. "This method of hydrogenation gives us access to a much wider range of hydrogen coverage than previous methods allowed," one of the team, chemist Keith Whitener, said in a press release.     The technique is also adjustable - you can turn the magnetic strength up and down using an electron beam that can shave off hydrogen atoms when there are too many in the mix. It does this by breaking the chemical bond between the graphene and the hydrogen, which renders the graphene no longer magnetic. What this also allows is for "magnetic patterns" - which means data - to be written into the graphene structure.    lead researcher and materials research scientist Woo-Kyung Lee, said in the press release.    The team says that if you integrate their magnetised graphene into a new type of storage medium, it will result in

AMD's cards are a better value than the 960 at this price point. The 280x can be had in America for $205 and it is much better than the 960 PLUS it has an extra gig of vram.
