MadOliveGaming reacted to ShadowCaptain in Should i still get BF4?
BF4 is still being supported along side Hardline - there is even new content, maps and battlebacks coming down the line and maybe another expansion!

So plenty of life left in it - it will not be replaced until BF5

hardline is a spin off and will be very popular too

Hi, so i spend some time putting something together for you.

I came up with some builds, for with and without ssd (they are pricy you see).

The one without ssd is without a doubt the most powerfull, ofcourse this does mean that you dont get the fast boot times an ssd gives but its up to you to consider if thats something thats really important to you, i just supply you the option . i was able to fit in the 280x which is an absolutely awsome card for 1080p gaming and a very nice proccecor, significantly better than the 6300 from your list but this is also where most of the budget from the ssd went. The zalman case is very good too, comes with 4 pre-installed 120mm fans, 1front 1 back and 2 on top. I also added a hyper 212 Evo. Its a really good cpu cooler and will for sure keep your cpu cool without being really expensive. This cooler is one of the, if not the, most popular and best bang for buck cpu cooler available. It even beats a lot of the coolers that are somewhat more expensive.

I left out the anti static thingy, i mean its just not neccecery. most builders wont use it. just touch a metal part from your desk or the metal parts of your case before you start building and maybe during builing a couple of times if your worried. I just do it before i start and never killed a thing, but i understand if you wanna be carefull and do it more often, it costs nothing .

Lower your cpu or gpu.  Also with these 2 builds you could get G.Skill Ripjaws memory running at 1866mhz instead of 1600 within budget, not that the difference will be massive but you can. I put them in, but you dont have to its not neccecary. Its something id personally do if its within my budget though i would break my budget for it.   By lowering your cpu to a 6300 you will be exactly at your budget, Here is a link to the same build but with ssd and 6300: http://au.pcpartpicker.com/p/dRT9vK   By lowerin your gpu to a r9 280 you stay 6 dollars under budget. Here is a link to the build with ssd and r9 280: http://au.pcpartpicker.com/p/TCzg4D     Let me know if you have more questions

yeah it is better obviously as it will run the first two cards on a full 16x lane and the last at 8x. No idea how big and noticable the difference would really be but in theory all 8x is worse.

one 290x is not gonna preform similarly to 2 970's in sli.

There is no need at all for 4 gbs or vram on  1080p gaming. even on 1440p the 3.5gb from the 970 is more than enough and its not like hes getting a 4k monitor....

Anyway nice build, but why did you take 2 sshd's?
If you're going for a setup with 1 bootdrive and one mass storage drive you'd be better of getting one actuall ssd and one normal hdd, cuz an sshd is fun but nowhere near as fast as an actual ssd. now if you can afford ssd boot but turn the hdd for mass storage into an sshd i get it. but with two sshd's you kinda taking the middelroad where the sshd wont give you much joy for mass storing stuff ass this generally takes little to no time anyway whilts your boot times wont be as good as they could be either.

But just a tip, its your pc afterall

If he charges his friend for that 2nd hand and barely midrangecpu im done helping
    Also @stconquest:
How i figured he had no ssd. Hes getting a completely new pc meaning his current one is either old and was also a budget pc or its even older and used to be more high end but cant preform as well anymore as hes going for a complete new build at 600$. Now its only recently SSD's became somewhat affordable. So if it used to be high end its so old sdds where not available yet but if it was more low to midrange SSD's would have been to expensive for his budget back then due to high prices

Yeah you can, but he might think the same i did with my build. If u are happy with 1080p and just get a good monitor your pc will run games smoothly on it without upgrading for a lot longer than on say 4k

Uhm lol 80 or so euro's for the kingston Fury 1866 Mhz you don't really got your facts straight at all. The difference in the production isn't gonna affect performance so much that you will notice it or see it in benchmarks. BTW yes everyone does select the cheapest RAM from respected fabricators like Kingston, Crucial, Corsair and others.

I agree on getting a 256 GB SSD with a 1 TB HDD and he should either get a good 750W PSU which cost around 100 euro's for gold, fully modular or a 500-600W one for no SLI but then that Mobo is also pretty useless in respect to its SLI capability.

Here is a build id do at this pricepoint. Its pretty close actually to what i have. Ithr 970 is a beast, truely. And the i5 wont dissapoint you either. I got rid of the pcie ssd cuz quite honestly is unneccecary and kinda out of your pricerange as well. I swapped it for a 513gb normal ssd though. A lot more storage and mine (i have the exact same one) boots windows so fast that my monitor has barely properly powered on by the time windows is done.
I also done away with the luquid cooler. Its nice, sure. But their livespan isnt long and you wont need it either unlesd you will do heavy oc's. The 212 evo is one if the best priced propre coolers out there, even allowing Light oc. The 8gb of ram is also more than enough.
The i5 en 970 will play games very well for quite a long while. If you do ecer get into video edditing or something you can always add 8 more gigs of ram. 650watt is enough. Im running the same gpu cpu and storage of a 500watt gold rated psu myself as 500 is the reccomended ammount for the reference design one and also the asus obe right here if im correct. I made it 620 just in case your next gpu wont be that forgiving
O btw i got my current pc from this store and the delivery was perfect ad was any contact i had with them. Good store!

    Hi Guys!
So i decided to finally spoil myself with a high end sff pc to replace my electric heater errgh... HP laptop.
Im gonna move it a lot so an easy to cary case was a must. Now the budget includes the parts but also the OS, monitor, keyboard and a new mouse. My headset is still fine as i only recently got it.
Now here are the parts. I hope and think it will be fine as i have been learning a LOT about pc parts since I started considering DIY over 1.5 years ago. But oppinions are always welcome, you never know when someone else knows something you dont right!
-Gpu: MSI GTX 980 Gaming 4G
    -Cpu: Intel i7 4790k
    -Mobo: MSI Z97I Gaming AC
    -Psu: Corsair RM650
-Ram: Corsair vengeance pro 2x8GB 1866mhz cl9 (red obviously )
    -Case: Corair 380t (black)
    -Cpu cooler: Corsair h100i
    -Ssd: Crucial mx100 512GB
    -Hdd: WD Black 2TB
    -Os: Win 8.1 OEM
-Extra Fans: 2x Corsair sp120 quiet pwm, 1x bitfenix spectre pro 200mm red LED and 1x Corsair AF120 quiet.
Now I admit on forehand that this is not a perfect price to preformance build and I spend some money on esthatics where i could save money with less pretty options.
SSD. i hate 1 thing.... SLOW PC'S. I want most my programs and quite some games on the ssd. Voila!
RAM. Come on, they are very good looking ram sticks. Okay i could have gone 8 gigs but hey it fits the budget and since i only have 2 slots here i wont have to bother about upgrading this for a while.
PSU. Silent as far as ive heard and lovely stock cables
FANS. Sure stock fans work... Though this should look better and its a tad more silent. At least for the h100i. Plus it looks good IMO.
Im also getting a corsair M65 RGB mouse and K70 keyboard with brown switches and an Iiyama ProLite E2773HS-GB1 27" monitor.
Now i know that a lot of corsair stuff, but thats more because of their astetics, not because i feel other brands do a lesser job, in fact some do better.
But let me know! Do you think this build is good or did i miss some flaws that i didnt catch.
FYI im from The Netherlands hence the euro as currency.
