  1. Where are the links to the docker tutorial and the steamcache setup guide?
  2. LOL. Agreed, I keep trying to type `ls` every once in a while. WSL makes stuff better.
  3. You have the `mklink` command backward: https://superuser.com/a/597552/342885
  4. Huh. That sounds like an interestingly plausible option. Could you please describe the process in more detail?
  5. So you're saying that it's not possible to do what I am asking?
  6. Hi all, I have a decent laptop which I upgraded to an SSD a while ago. Unfortunately, I didn't have the foresight to buy a 500GB 850 EVO and I now have a 250GB. I now want to install games to use on my laptop, and I know that I can do this with a Steam library on an external HDD. However, when I tried this, Steam would lose its s*** whenever I tried to unplug the HDD, forcing me to re-recognize the game files when I plugged the HDD back in. That takes a while, especially on a 5400rpm HDD. Is there any way I can avoid having to re-recognize game files while still only having the external HDD plugged in whenever I want to play games? I would love to be able to keep Steam open, as the notifications and friends panels are useful to me while I am not playing games. Thanks!
  7. I ended up getting an Acer E5-575-52JF from BestBuy for $350 USD. It was cheap while still having an i5-6200U and exceptional I/O for my needs.
  8. Okay, so you are saying that if I try to install windows 10 from USB on the machine to a new ssd then the key will update automatically?
  9. Hello all, I am getting a new laptop which has a 1TB HDD, which I am planning on upgrading to a 250GB SSD immediately. The only issue is how to do it. I would like to be able to extract the windows key from the laptop and use it to install from a USB onto my new ssd, but I don't know if that would work. If it won't, then could somebody recommend a reliable and free disk cloning software for me to use. I am just a bit scared of shrinking the partition. Will that work? Thanks, Neil
  10. Maybe one or two extra, no more should be required. Probably one, but that depends on what temp "normal" is to you.
  11. What do you mean by "It will still be dual channel" ?
  12. So... I currently have a Skylake System that I assembled in April, 6700 on an ASUS H170 Gaming mobo with 2x4 2133 DDR4 RAM. For Premiere and other Adobe CC purposes, I would like to add in another 8GB of RAM. Can I still use the previous RAM, taking advantage of my mobo's 4 RAM slots? Thanks from a novice PC Builder, Neil
