MSI GTX 970 Gaming 69% just got it Tuesday

I went with 970 because it does well with less of a processor. My aging 2600K no OC likes nvidia better. Or i should say it puts less load on a processor, from my perspective and research. Also better with Linux.

I think handhelds are neat, looking forward to this and hope it does well.

Hmm I never really notice the CPU going that high, it might just be that modded minecraft is very poorly optimized. Is there a good monitoring program you guys recommend to be like, oh CPU is the bottleneck or GPU is the bottleneck. If it is CPU, what 1155 MOBO do you guys recommend for overclocking and CPU cooler cause I have stock right now.

I was afraid of getting in the 390 or 970 debate but I am leaning toward the 970 because I play a lot of Minecraft with shaders and nvidia just handles that much better. I plan to get the witcher 3 soon. I play all my stuff at 1080p Some other games I fancy, Fallout 4, CoH2, Wildstar when it becomes free, Heroes and Generals, WoT, ARK. Ark is really pushing the 280x btw, have to turn a lot of stuff down. Thanks guys

Running a stock I7 2600K because I have a mobo that doesn't overclock. Anyway I have a 280X that I'm not too impressed with at the moment and am looking to upgrade. Please suggest and also note I'm looking to spend around $360 or less. Thank you in advanced for you time

Yeah can I just add onto that Intel iGPU thing. Ive been using the one in my 2600k while my 280x is in rma. That thing is powerfull though, when you consider what its doing for the size, I mean its in a CPU for god sakes. Can we get intel to start making graphic cards please.

I like this type of testing! Thank you, my wife and I both PC game so building two mid range machines is the name of the game most of the time.

I just sent my 280X Toxic back for an RMA. Graphic glitches and artifacts even after underclocking. Get the 290, 280X toxic has too many problems.

Ive got the Razer Blackwidow Expert 2014. My keys dont wiggle, I like it. Owned for about 6 months now with no problems, even had water spill all over it and still works great.

I think i'm realizing the same thing as you, I dont see my 280x maxxed ...ever but fps will still be 30 40 ish with 2600k cpu...wish I would have known before buying.

Oh I get it now, use the 290 for a new $1000 build.
