  1. Okay so I just looked for the G-sync on indicator and put the game back to no v-sync and magically the problem has been solved. I did absolutely nothing else!
  2. Hahahha Daym! That last bit! How's the setup going for you ? And where am I supposed to see this watermark? and on a side note what motherboard and ram did you pick up ? I'm still contemplating the msi b350 tommahawk or the asus b3350 prime plus.
  3. I did try that actually. but without DDU, just the normal clean install from nvidia. I guess I'll give that a shot.
  4. So i have a 27in Acer 1440p g-sync display can't care less about the model no. I think it's xb271 something. My point is that after the Creators update I started seeing some tearing and to be honest I don't think my g sync is working after the update.I first experienced this in Fifa 17. I see high frame rates but there's some weird lag and tearing. For now, i just put on V-sync. Which was working just fine before the update. The settings are exactly the same as before. g-sync is enabled for full screen and windowed in the Nvidia Control Panel (will refer to this as NCP form here on). The 3d settings for the game has g-sync on too and the in game settings are no limit fps, these setting used to work before. Now the thing is I could just roll back the update but I'll probably have to eventually since Microsoft is so pushy with the updates and due to the fact that I'm going to be upgrading to a Ryzen 1700X from my current 2700k (OC 4.7GHz, Not sure that matters but just in case it does, leaving it out there) in the next week or so, just waiting on the mobo and ram to ship. And I've read int he forums that this update is required for Ryzen to run well / stable. I'm currently using a gtx 970 strix. My 1080ti should be delivered today so I'll switch out the card and see if the problem persists. I am running the latest WHQL drivers. hope someone can clear the confusion on this situation.

  6. That cpu is just fine for gaming, OC it if you want to squeeze some extra performance from the cpu side. It says here that you have a 1070 FTW, pick up a 1080 or 1080ti if you can find one in your budget that will help you waaay more than a cpu upgrade will for gaming. Question : what resolution are you running? and maybe even consider getting a gsync monitor.
  7. I'm not planning to put a waterblock if I get the FE. S Most of you are suggesting the aftermarket, I'll likely stick with the EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti FTW3 GAMING unless someone can give me some positive feedback on the FE
  8. To be honest I won't really go through that much effort to get the most out of the FE. I like the strix card but it costs 1228 CAD after taxes on amazon.
  9. Thanks for the quick response Spork. Those were exactly my thoughts when i checked the prices! I would usually pick up an after market one too. I have the 970 strix and it's served me very well so far. I can't seem to find a cheaper price on ncix or newegg either. I've never been too fussy about acoustics. As I usually game with headphones Unless I'm playing with more people in the room like Fifa 17 or mortal kombat x which is usually not too gpu and or cpu intensive anyway. I'm really thinking of canceling my EVGA order since it hasn't shipped yet and just going for the FE. Unless the FE is unreasonably loud at 80% Fan usage or won't last me as long.
  10. So I'm confused between getting the 1080ti Founder's Edition (1000$ Canadian.) or picking up an aftermarket card for roughly 1200 cad. Should I just get the FE and OC it reasonably or get an aftermarket and OC that some more, do you guys think 200 cad is worth it for the extra performance / acoustics? If i order the FE I'll get it today itself, if i pick the After market (EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti FTW3 GAMING) I'll get it Sunday not that I'm in a hurry but what would be best value? Keep in mind I have a 1440p gsync monitor so I won't really be gaming at 4k I'm getting the ti over the regular 1080 just for future proofing a little more.
