  1. thanks but am going to the other coast hehe, if next year I attend LTX I will surely visit, I love retro hardware.
  2. Hi guys, I will be moving to Canda ( Montreal) and I will be needing a new pc, my current one is ok but I could use a faster one to do photo/video, programming, GIS, and naturaly gaming. So aside of amazon or newegg. I wonder, are there any good candadian (or even local in MTL) hardware stores I could check? Thanks!!!
  3. do we know awsd what x470, x370 and b4560 MoBo will will support Zen 2?
  4. AFTER WEEKS OF WAITING!!! here is a pic of the Server, Named Roma (for Rome) , cuz all roads lead to and stuff Thanks everyone for their opinion, now time to suffer with VMs and Dockers HAha!
  5. maybe http://clonezilla.org/
  6. To raidz or not raidz that is the matter

  7. For sencible data I wouldn't use second habd or used hdds, for stuff that doesn't matter much it's ok
  8. you need hardware like this, maybe even overkill. software, well maybe you could answer that pdf as of what do you excpet to reach and from there start getting to places.
  9. Depending ion what you will be doing, you should be picking the parts you need. How many clients do you estimate will be hitting the server at the same time? what is the average file size? do you plan on scalating? whatabout BACKUP? My work group uses a freenas with a Xeon, but we have up 10 simultaenous clients working several gig files, so what is the need for the server. A for OS, how of an expert do you want to become? in Freenas you could setup some sort of protecction, but maybe a pfsense router would be a better solution if you want a good firewall and other secutrity feats.. If you want a fileserver that actually has some antivirus on a familar face maybe try win storage server 2012. I hope this helps!
