  1. okay that works for sending my voice and receiving gaming sound - but does it work for receiving my party's voice? thanks for replying
  2. bit hard as I'm in a lecture right now lol i've grabbed this off of google http://images.sonicelectronix.com/images/1475383/main/rz04-00870100-r3u1.jpg hope that helps
  3. hi i've recently sold my gaming pc as I'm at uni and needed less distracting (we should all understand this lol), and so got a less distracting xbox one. i have my headset from gaming pc and I would like to know if there is anyway for it to connect to my xbox in terms of chatting in a party AND listening to the game at the same time. Headset: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B009O251OK?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_search_detailpage many thanks
  4. coil whine usually comes from fans running at insane speeds. make sure all fans are still spinning. otherwise the card could be overheating and the only fan working is spinning as fast as possible which is producing the coil whine. this lack of cooling could there lead to the card overheating and your system crashing if your fans aren't the problem - RMA ASAP. even if it is a painful experience! good luck
  5. it'd be interesting to see how many ps4 did in relation. 3 million doesnt seem all that much to be really. considering uk, amerca, europe etc. would've expected more given its just been xmas holidays
  6. what settings do you have on catalyst? i'd be interested to see if my card can hit the same kind of clock speeds as yours
  7. 1100Mhz on core? what cooler are you using?
  8. i have the 7850 and I'm around 40-60fps dependent on maps on the lowest graphics. I would personally crossfire (if you don't have a lot of money) or get a new card
  9. maybe something like a graphics card, water cooler kit… something that would help my system!
  10. the fan controller will need power, as this power will then then go to the fans. on your motherboard there will be fan headers for the fans which will take the power from the motherboard (in case you don't want to use your fan controller). so to conclude, your fans need power, if you use the fan controller, you need to plug the fan into the controller and then the controller into the appropriate fan cable. If you use your motherboard, just plug your fan cable into an appropriate fan header (fan headers will be mapped and shown in your motherboard manual) hope this helps!
  11. 45 degrees is fine. I think you're paying way too much attention to what people brag about when they say what their CPU idles at. The stock cooler wouldn't allow your CPU to get hot, otherwise it's not doing it's job and Intel wouldn't ship the CPU out with it. You're all good mate!
  12. I'm already looking at phones (my contract renews in May - so quite far away). This one caught my eye, but I bet there will be better phones out then!
  13. like everyone else has said, don't use it. but overall, MY ADVICE, don't do this. Because you will be allowing impurities in the air (like dust and what not) to contact the CPU. so when you finally put thermal paste down, the surface of the CPU will have impurities and therefore won't dissipate heat as well as it could do.. So i personally wouldn't move an inch until you get that cooler and can install it all at once.
  14. seems like the people that have spent the time to get to know windows 8 really like the update to the Operating System. And the people that don't.... well you know the rest. I still haven't converted because I haven't had the need too! But it's good to read a helpful review from time-to-time
  15. I play battlefield a lot, and I play with a bunch of guys around the world and I've never heard of this issue. I've heard of Battlefield crashing causing TeamSpeak to crash too, but not the whole computer. I have however had the experience of the whole computer crash due to faulty RAM in battlefield 3. (as I posted just above this.)
  16. i used to have this problem with battlefield 3 when i first got my pc. it took a lot of working out and it annoyed me a lot, but i finally figured that the RAM was the problem. So I ran with one stick and I never had this problem again. So try your RAM, as it could be one of your sticks. Also you're guessing that it could be your heat, have you even checked the temperatures via a program? I highly doubt that even with a small over clock that your CPU/GPU will be causing your system to shut down. Hope this helps, iWK
  17. its bad research if they say that 50% of gamers do X, Y and Z. they obviously only asked people that live on benefits and have a high power/internet usage per month the research is very biased - though i don't put it past some people to do what was stated.
  18. i've heard in the past that certain graphics cards aren't supported by Sony Vegas. Can't remember in particular which card(s) this was but nevertheless. So check out a compatibility list which will no doubt be on a Sony website. Failing that, there may be some third party website which could be of service to you that may have tested compatibility of Sony Vegas with certain graphics cards. If that doesn't help you at all, make sure your graphics card is at stock clock speeds. Also check to see if your graphics card drivers are up-to-date. I hope this helps you iWK
  19. try a different monitor on a different output port?
  20. like other members have suggested, try stock clocks - that might fix it when fixing computers, its a game of trial and error
  21. yeah and no. if you have neither component then lower your graphics card to a 270 or something similar, and get the i5 that you say you wanted. in most games the PC should run good, but there will be some CPU intensive games that you will just lug on. you might not like AMD, but honesty, they are good processors. It's only when they are compared that they are titled as "hotter". try the 6300 or 8320 or something similar - they'll fit your budget and will probably produce better results in most games then the i3 you initially set out wanting. hope this helps, iWK
  22. to be honest it could be a number of things. Though I would've thought the hardware would be fine. make sure that any programmes running in the background are closed when he begins playing - as this may be using up a lot of your computers resources and thus less resources to devote to battlefield and that could be inducing the lag
  23. I was starting to lose hope in the folk of LTT when I had this post up for a while - even fake bumping it just to get some fresh attention. THANK YOU for not only reading, but replying. Replying to such an extent that I'm going to have to read this over a few times before I make my next verdict. From what I got though, I should back up, and I should back up now. And rather then backup, take system images. I'm not sure if there is a size difference when comparing the two though, like which one will fill a hard drive up quicker, system images or backups? And once that's decided, do I get rid of backups(/images) after 5 days, after 10 days? do I get rid of them ever? Next thing is, I don't particularly want to have to run a server at the moment - despite being able to build one on the cheap. This is because my Dad doesn't need that expansion… YET. The phone is a second priority, and shouldn't be concentrated on for now, but I'll keep researching. At the moment, I'm still not sure if you're saying that my idea of a Drive attached to the router (BT Homehub 3) is a good idea or not? please clarify Be it a short term solution that needs to be sorted ASAP, or a solution that could work for a year or two. Thanks zuboici iWK
