IMHO ASUS makes the best quality boards. Gigabyte makes decent ones and they're cheap but if you want long lasting quality, go ASUS

I think I would use a 970 because it's around the same performance as a 390 (not 390x) and its relatively cheaper

I don't usually recommend Xeons for gaming, honesty an i5 is great and it can handle video editing (it'll take longer but it'll be better for gaming)
