Jokrik got a reaction from athesean1 in Mechanical Keyboard Club!
I used to love greens, and I tried those inconsistent whites on my ducky yellow ed (which I sold in the end)
but I managed to get whites from 7bit in bulks and assembled my lightsaver v2 with whites
I went through all the whites I got and ONLY chose the one with consistent click
now, the whites is by far my favorite switch so nice to type on. It has all the tactile and click with some heaviness

Project Blank Let’s cut it short, I’m going to treat myself with a new PC. I’ve been quite obsessed with mechanical keyboards after my last build “Phenomenon” ; which I’ve learnt how to mod it and spend all my PC budget on them and made my bank account cried . Anyway, this time it would be a pc which would run me for the long run, so if anyone expect me to do major or big time mod like I did previously; don’t be, well there will be but its just minor mod. It will be a classic looking build which the components itselves I’ve chosen carefully to suit the build and stand for itself. I tried to grab myself the highest quality components my wallet can afford, not trying to be a cry baby but I have limited option on components here; besides with all those water cooling stuff which I’ve to order from the US, it would cost me twice as much if I have to pay for the custom tax (fingers crossed) Won't be revealing all the components I’m going to use now, but some components will be taken from my previous build since I think they can still serves me well Anyway, I will be updating this first post occasionally for some updates; this will be a slow log since I am taking my time to make something perfect for the long haul. Estimated to be done by end of December And also. I will be playing around with my camera for the shots as well, so stay tuned! Ok as promised, I've spent most of my day yesterday assembling the case, had some minor issue but its fixed apparently I've mistakenly installed one of the back panel upside down and ended up unable to mount the side panel the case in the manual is matte black and they print the manual in black and white.... I've a lot of goodies came in yesterday, not gonna flood you guys with plenty of product shoot photo pretty sure you can see the product photo in their website or any other build log Anyway here's the half assembled Caselabs SM8 Honestly I know I didnt choose the wrong case, this case has everything I want a case to be well built and that full Al and here's the fully assembled one, pardon me for the finger prints In the other hand I've received new package for my water cooling I'll be using a rigid tubing from primochill, the fittings will be all black from primo and bitspower and the tube will also be black though I'm still not sure whether this all black thing would work' I'll see how it goes if it doesnt look good I'll get some other color tubes anyway I'll be using a Di water for this time, I'm done with colored coolant staining my blocks The other thing that excites me the most other than the case is the reservoir man now I know Aquacomputer make some serious stuff, the quality of their reservoir is just outstanding and new CPU block for the highlight in the case Lastly, as I've said MORE STAR WARS Wanna share my love for keyboard as well, this thing just came in yesterday along with the watercooling stuff its a Korean custom keyboard with custom keyset This is just a few of my custom keyboard collection

So as I've said, there will be consistent update from now on. And today I decided to start on dressing the GPU's and radiators So I tested the fans, it seems that the fan port splitter doesn't work if downvolted to 7v, I have to get a handmade fan port splitter in this case. What bothers me is that its pretty hard to get a black pcb fan splitter and I wont stop until I get one. An all dark color build have to be all dark and test fit the rad
Still cant test fit the 480 rad due to the length of the screws which is a tiny bit too short . The shortage is due to Caselabs drop mount system which resulted in an alu plate run in between fans and radiators moving on... Let the undressing begun
I was stuck with the unscrewing part since the guide from AC is so minimal, for those of you who are taking the stock cooler of 290's Make sure you check the two screws near the ports, it's the two screws on the left (see picture)
And she's naked!
It's time to clean her
The indigo cleaner really does make a difference for easy TIM cleaning, you can see my hand reflection. And no, I did not edit the photo It's pure sensor camera play with good lighting and Indigo cleaner
I was planning to use CLU on the GPU, but seeing how compliated the PCB on AMD GPUs compare to NVIDIA I decided to only use my trusty ICdiamond, and MX-4 on the RAM module This is the Active XCS Backplate I was talking about, the backplate is aluminium . Love how solid it feels Had to take off the stock terminal and replace it with the one included in the backplate. It has heat sink build into it And applied some TIM on it DONE! -

Misstyped lol
it is indeed blues, I already gave them a try at the local store and somehow I hate those new switches
it's like you wanting to get a Porsche but instead there is a new car which feels and looks like the real deal
while the price is not that much different
anyway

Hello again everyone, firstly
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
I know its been a while since I've fully updated the log, but finally most of the wait has finally over
90% of the goods are here, and I can finally play and tune around the build as I wish
Lets get to the pictures, pardon me with the bad photos. I'm trying my best to take good pictures but since I have most of the house under renovation I have to move to a smaller working space with bad lighting
It's best to take pictures with daylight but I will be spending most of my time from morning til dawn in the office
I've tested the motherboard, CPU and GPU's with an open test bench with raid 0 ssd's
some people might say you can't tell the difference unless you are benchmarking and I might have the false alarm but
moving from 4 cores to 6 cores I can tell the difference especially with raid 0
I might be wrong
After some testing I cleaned the CPU TIM and leave it as it is
Was planning to put the CPU block on but I want to wait for the Motherboard block to come which will come either tomorrow or the day after
I will be using CLU on all the blocks , yeah I know it's a lot of risk especially on the gpu since CLU can transfer electric current from the board
but no pain, no gain
the 290's are running pretty hot even on the open test bench
I've also replaced my phoebus with an STX, tested it and man I can tell you; an stx can beat phoebus any day
if you have a 7.1 setup than go for phoebus
but for someone like me who enjoy music more, go for STX
I have an AUNE T1 on hand and once I've assembled everything I'll compare the STX with AUNE (am using Shure SH1440 and BD DT880 250ohm for test)
I've received my monsoon bending kit before the new year but I was too busy packing for the short holiday and didn't get the chance to post it here
again, nice packaging by PPCS
And guess what I got today!
This is as much packages I've ever received in a day!
The custom has been slacking during the holiday and told me they didn't want to release all the packages one by one, and I got 120$ of custom duty which is not as bad as I thought
It's a mixture of ummm.... Keyboard stuff...... (again) and some of the stuff for this log
Ordered the active cooling backplate from Aquacomputer straight
The GPU block has also arrived, I was so lucky I get 2 out of 5 stock from frozencpu
I can tell you, you wont go wrong with AC stuff. Quality wise ...
At first I thought there are some flaws in the block as you can see from the last photo, but I've realized its a carving of Hawaii islands inside the block it self :thumb:
Last box for this log came from the sleeving guy!
This is the box I've anticipated the most, it has all the goodies for the build
sleeving wise, it's looking really good
I'm too tired from the holiday and will take proper pictures tomorrow and assembled other stuff including the GPU blocks
so, until tomorrow fellas!

Thx for the kind words! :)I am currently building a new house and planning to make a man cavebut i've to live the messy work outside , thats what she said
no... seriously... that what she said lol!
dont know where I'm going with this but you get the point
Im planning to make a desk build but it would ruin the aesthetic of the cave, as the designer designed it with classic white look
goes well with this build though
anyway I think I'm done with heavy mod like this build, might gonna just buy a high quality case in the first place like caselabs or little devil
and do some minor mod only
its all about performance now and sleek look!

Jokrik got a reaction from Darkman in [Build Log] "Phenomenon" Switch 810+Pedestal
Phenomenon
About this build log:
I've been a pc enthusiast for just about a year and a half. Building a gaming rig for just a "so-so" experience was only my goal at that time. I've started with a medium class build using a single average graphics, however as time goes by ; I've got a plague  by reading enthusiast forums to demand more from my rig; adding an SLI setup was my option at that time. Running games on the highest setting possible with no lag or issue was my next goal , than it turned nasty! I was actually starstruck when I browse a section of the forum called "OCN Water Cooling Club and Gallery" :P .
From there everything just seem blur and here I am making a build log for fun (since I enjoy building this rig so much) with a total of 1080 of rad on my switch with a little modding here and there.
Whats with the name?
The theme for my build was actually taken/inspired by how many people hated the CSQ design on the EK Waterblock. I'm not promoting or anything , I've actually used many other water cooling brand in the setup but with this in mind. Probably this build would inspire people to rather than blaming on how bad the design of a product to actually make it work by inserting ideas and solutions into it. I've actually dont mind the CSQ thingy therefore taken a theme from "CROP CIRCLE" which is a phenomena and I find it (still) amazing; (although there are bits of argument on the true nature of it here and there). I've came up with the name "Phenomenon"
What will be in this build?
What I can say is that I will use the same components from my lastest build including the case to save cost. What I will do or try to show in this build log is to make this Switch 810 more eye-popping in term of performance and look. I will be using a total of 1020 space of radiator (480+360+240) with the help of DWOOD Pedestal (which I've already received and LOVE it!) since my ultimate goal is to get a 5c Delta on CPU temp. This goal is pretty way up there since it gets pretty hot without air con in Asia
Most of the components I've chosen are the one that fits in my build color theme. Whats left is that to add a more color fit water cooling components which is already on its way from the USA
The most difficult hurdle I've got is that I am currently located in an Asia country where to to get the water cooling component is limited and pricy. I've ordered from FrozenCPU but sometimes the shipping cost is not worth if I buy in small quantity therefore Im trying hard to order all at once and if something got left behind I'll see what I can find in my own country
The build will also use some laser cut to make the pattern which I've drawn on pieces of acrylic
