  1. Yeah but as I said I want to get a new Mobo since my usbs don't work and if im going to do that I may as well upgrade to a new platform that being lga 1200 or am4
  2. Yeah but does the 10600k have hyper threading ive made the mistake buying i5s in the past and always wish I bought the i7
  3. So I just got a 3080 and realized my i5-8600k bottlenecks it harder than I thought it would and want to upgrade, my motherboard is also starting to screw up as my usbs dont work. I was thinking of getting the 10700k or the 3700x or something like that but was wondering if there was anything better I could do or if it's worth waiting for ryzen 4 or 5000 series whatever the name may be.
  4. Yeah thanks for the reply i looked at some benchmarks with better cpus and it doesnt seem like they get much better fps than i do in far cry 5 specifically this isnt the only game im interested in playing obviously but just was using it for a comparison. I still want to upgrade my motherboard and cpu at some point soon though since its the motherboard i feel is starting to die since my usb ports on it hardly work and i cant even shut down my pc without manually holding the power button. Figured id upgrade to ryzen when the new 4000 series of them comes out maybe.
  5. Ah I see at least now overall is a good time for me to upgrade cpu in the coming bit since i think i remember seeing amd is going to be announcing new cpus if im not mistaken so ill see what's available then. Thanks for all your guys replies and help, i never realized that 70% cpu usage was bottlenecking for some reason was under the impression it was only at 100%.
  6. I maybe total payed like 80$ more than an american would the card for you on newegg.com is 739$ which is 987$ cad and then tax is 0.13% which adds another 128$ to it making it 1115$.
  7. Well the conversion is weird when it comes to things because the day it went up on newegg.ca the price was 1049.99$ for the ventus in canadian dollar so you have to add tax onto that as well and it comes to 1185$ roughly.
  8. Well maybe i did get ripped off having canadian currency lmao
  9. No i did not im canadian thats just what we pay lol
  10. Yeah i think i may have to work with this for a while since its a massive upgrade regardless of some bottlenecking here and there, came from a 1070 and just spent 1200$ on the ventus msi one was thinking of upgrading to a ryzen chip or going intel 10700k but not sure 100% probably do that in the next 1-3 months ish.
  11. Also 8600k isnt quad core it has 6 cores
  12. Yeah lol i just didn't want to immediately upgrade to a new cpu and mobo but i may sooner than i would have liked to since my mobo is starting to die anyway i think so. Not sure what i should get though
  13. Isn't it odd though if i lower all my settings to low i get a 50 fps increase i wouldnt have thought that would be the case if the cpu was causing the issue.
  14. Yeah i figured but i just didnt think it really started to bottleneck until all cores were at 100%
  15. Okay so far cry wouldnt launch since i had to reinstall windows to fix some problems yesterday but dishonored 2 all my cores are at about 80-90% usage with hovering gpu usage around 56% was the lowest to 79% was the highest i seen.
  16. Yeah ill hop into far cry and check out what the cores are doing real quick
  17. Like i expected some bottlenecking plan on upgrading in the future since my mobo is a bit screwy anyway but 30% usage with less than 50% usage something seems off.
  18. Playing at 1440p I have a 144hz monitor with gsync, games I've tested have been. RDR2 which works fine witcher 3 which is fine for the most part besides where my cpu hits 100% but i expected that, but then games like dishonored 2 and far cry 5 both have incredibly low gpu usage
  19. Hi, Anyone happen to know why my gpu usage could be so low, I just got a 3080 and ive noticed on some games it hits as low as 30%, which means something is clearly wrong. My cpu is a i5-8600k but it isnt even at max usage whenever these gpu usages are so low so im a bit torn as to what is causing this. Like in the witcher 3 i get 98% usage most all the time except for times where my cpu is the issue, but in something like far cry 5 i seen it go as low as 30% and my fps is only at 80 so like clearly im missing a lot of performance.
  20. yep basically where i am at at the moment this is annoying i dont understand what could be wrong apart from mobo didnt want to have to replace until i upgraded to a ryzen chip in the future but yay now after spending 1200$ on a 3080 i get to spend another 800$ so soon
  21. So I recently just got a 3080 from a order list at a store and its a msi ventus, after installing it, i was testing games out and it was working good and then i noticed progressively the gpu usage was kind of low and was boggled by that so went to try and find out why. After many driver installs later now when i use my pc loading my ssds or any drives are laggy, and games just chop in and out. I figured maybe my 3080 was messing something up but i put my old card which worked today back in and its doing the same thing. Only thing i can think of is my motherboards usbs were working today and they are a bit screwy and whenever they die it stops many of my basic pc functions from working right such as when i try to shut down it freezes at the circle spinning logo. I try to exit bios it freezes i have to restart pc manually. When the usbs work again all of this stuff ceases to be a problem. Sorry for the structure of this paragraph just at my wits end trying to figure out what to do. Only thing i can think of is my motherboard is shitting the bed on me otherwise i have no idea what is going on. I tried reseating the ram and taking out the battery didn't seem to do anything. I am also using a pcie usb hub to be able to consistently use my usbs for power i was wondering if this had something to do with it but wasnt sure since i cant use my pc without it. My specs: i5-8600k corsair rm750x msi z370 gaming plus motherboard gskill ddr4 2400mhz 16gb
  22. Yeah i know im under the expected wattage but from what I read most people said that you want to have like 50 more than you use but i dont know if thats 100% accurate.

  24. I see, that's good didn't really want to upgrade my whole system already thinking im going to need a new psu for my 3080 i may buy since i only have a 550w and my estimated wattage is 539 with a 3080 =
  25. I see I heard from a few sources people saying without 4.0 the cards wouldnt be as good or some shit just wanted to see if that was true i didnt think it would be the case
