  1. But As i said before when i connect my pc directly to modem the speeds are fine. This is boggling my mind.
  2. What I don't understand is when i have my pc connected via wifi my connection is still bad but my phone is fine. Like ill be hitting 40-50mbps download and then like 10mbps upload and then on my pc when connected either wifi or direct its like 10-25mbps download and like 0.10mbps to like 0.30mbps upload. What could be causing this kind of connection slowdown on my computer.
  3. Well there is a QOS setting enabled but i thought you wanted that on. I also tried all the ethernet ports on the router.
  4. So my internet speed is 50mbits and if i connect my pc directly to the router i am currently using my speed is like 12mbits and upload is less than 1mbits. But I tried connecting directly with my ethernet cable to the modem and my speeds hit 50mbits and 10mbits upload. Also another weird thing is when I use my routers connection via wifi the speeds are fine. My question is why is my router seems to be slowing my speed down directly connected so significantly. My router is a Belkin N600 DB not a particularly amazing router but figured it would do the job. If anyone has any advice on how I can remedy this it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
  5. Yeah I am going to ultimately but I just wanted to see what other people thought either way as I like to discuss this stuff a bit.
  6. Yeah thats the plan Im just trying to decide a bit before the benchmarks I just don't want to have the buyers remorse i always have had buying i5 cpus having people tell me they will be fine and then seeing them cap usage on games like 3 months later and bottleneck me so I kind of wanted to go big. But i think the 5800x is still pretty big either way. Im canadian so buying a 5900x and a new mobo is like pushing 1100$ for me
  7. Well I do have the budget but i would like to budget in some faster ram than i currently have as mine is only 2400mhz so i was trying to decide if i should go 5800x and then get better ram like something at 4000mhz
  8. So after the announcement of the new ryzen 5000 series chips i am looking to upgrade my current setup from a i5-8600k to the new zen 3 architecture. I am having trouble deciding which would be the better option for me currently between the 5800x or the 5900x. I mostly game and web browse well gaming some videos here and there and some file transfers. The price is a bit irrelevant to me I'm just trying to decide if I did go with the more expensive ryzen 5900x if it would actually be worth the extra price increase for my needs. Ideally be nice for the cpu to be able to last me for at least 4 to 5 years. I will be pairing this with the RTX 3080 GPU as well. Thanks For any replies in advance.
  9. This is an example of what happens to me in most games except the game showing is assassins creed odyssey and it is by far the worst since my fps isnt really even good but still has bad stuttering, this is with all settings at maximum and i had my resolution scaling at 140%. Also i suppose worth mentioning it is currently installed onto a hard drive that isn't particularly fast but as i understand that doesnt affect fps as much as it does loading textures and load times in general. The 140% resolution scaling is the only reason the gpu usage is so high otherwise its at about 60-80% with ACO specifically.
  10. Honestly like id pay like 6-800 dollars for a new cpu mobo combo at the moment even if my fps increase is minor but it makes my frametimes consistent and removes my suttering its so aggravating. Having 160 fps but stutters to like 60 or 80 here and there is worse than playing at a fixed like 60 or 80 i swear.
  11. Have my i5-8600k overclocked @1.2volts 4.5ghz fixed
  12. Actually i was looking at this the other day and the only abnormal thing i really seen was windows audio device graph isolation was taking up between 8-20% cpu usage its not present now but its only there when i start gaming and especially when i join a discord call.
  13. I've got some g skill ddr4 2400mhz ram i believe not sure what channel or whatever its running in never really bothered with that.
  14. hmm well i dont know i just notice everyone always saying to me that an i5 is enough but how is it that all my cores are always maxed out and my gpu usage goes hella down in a lot of titles.
  15. Using a hyper 212 evo thermals are decent never go about 65c gaming.
  16. Sometimes i start questioning with how much people swear by these i5's if something in my system has been fundamentally wrong but its happened over multiple different psus and mobos and cpus at this point so i think its just i5s are below the performance i always want.
  17. Lol look at this gta 5 menu stutter its so bad i cant even move my mouse it just teleports around lol.
  18. THIS DUDE everytime ive got a new cpu i always just go for the i5 because its cheaper my first cpu was a 4690k and i got it because my friend said a i7-4790k was pointless and useless if you are just gaming. I didn't know anything about pcs around then. Now this i5-8600k is struggling super hard now, like in assassins creed odyssey I had a fps drop to 4 with the cpu cores hitting all 100% and my gpu usage went down to 2% at that time as well. I just want a strong ass cpu that has smt or hyperthreading that doesnt ever go above high usages so i dont have to worry about my gpu not being able to be fully utilized.
  19. I'm playing at 1440p 165hz monitor. IDK my cpu seems to always be an issue in every game its hitting like 70-100% on the cores and then i start experiencing extreme stutters its just not very fun to play like that like look at gta 5 here ill post an image. My gpu usage is super low my fps is still good but i get stuttering once the cores go a bit higher.
  20. Well I think I read with the new chips they may have found a way to increase the fps in games to be more in line with Intel's
  21. Definitely need a new cpu tho this 8600k causes massive stuttering in many games like borderlands 3 pegged at 85-100 usage and it makes my gpu usage his like 31 and I had a fps drop as low as 14 lmao
  22. Think I may wait if I can for the new ryzen chips and see what they get me since they also have pcie 4
