  1. Hi, I was just wondering if one of you guys may be able to answer this question for me. I just bought a new Asus Rog Gtx 1070 yesterday, running amazing everything is good. I was just trying to see if this was normal I have MSI afterburner monitoring in on screen display and also just the app itself and it says my memory on my pug is running at 4007 mhz and if I read the specs correctly for the 1070 it is saying 8 GHz a second so shouldn't it be 8000 mhz then? If not what am I missing would just like to know. Though that does say effective memory clock could that mean only in certain scenarios? Thanks for any replies in advance.
  2. Well I think its safe to say that this card will be a substantial upgrade from my sapphire R9 270x both in cooling and performance. Though I got to say this thing is kind of a beast I think I got a lucky one because I run games that you wouldn't think an older card like this would pretty well but I'm spoiled and I need my 60fps in the witcher 3 lol.
  3. Alright well tbh the asus one may fit better since the rgb light can be customized it doesn't have red just on it, I have a bunch of Razer products colored green. I don't really have anything red but I was just considering the MSI one because I liked the way it looked. Probably better to go more practical and also its cheaper. Since we get destroyed in Canada for prices I guess anything I can save is good. Though It does come down to when I get there which one of them they have in stock because I refuse to wait any longer for a new card. Been dying to replace my R9 270x.
  4. Hey so guys just want to double check something will the Asus Strix fit in my Corsair 200r case I checked and its about 11.73 inches It said I think I checked it briefly with a ruler and a whole 30cm ruler fit inside my case from the pcie slot to the end.
  5. I also had a question for example the msi cards come in a variety of different ones like the gaming x or the gaming z i noticed the clock speeds are just higher on these if you were to buy a normal gaming version can you clock it just as high?
  6. Do you know either's customer support very well like have good experiences or bad with either? Just to get a basis then
  7. Hi, So this Friday I am probably heading down to canada computers to pick up my new gtx 1070 and I'm really torn on which one I should get right now between the MSI Twin Frozr one or the Asus Strix one. I was just wanting some other peoples opinions on the cards, I was leaning towards the msi one as of right now but the asus one appears to be cheaper and I'm just really not sure. Asus Card: http://www.canadacomputers.com/product_info.php?cPath=43_1200_557_559&item_id=097886 Msi Card: http://www.canadacomputers.com/product_info.php?cPath=43_1200_557_559&item_id=096792 Any guidance or tips or cool facts about either card you guys may know that I don't and can help me make my choice more clear would be appreciated or even if there is another card that is better on that website. (Has to be on that website I linked or It wont be there) Thanks In Advance for replies.
  8. Well I just got another blue screen this time it was with a completely factory optimized defaults. I also went and looked at my ram and i was wondering if it may be because the ram isn't the exact same as my other 12gb in the system so I took out the 2 new sticks I added and lets see if that solves the problem if not I am lost because I've tried multiple re-driver installations now its just being annoying at this point.
  9. I dont know for sure i was gonna run a cpu stress test since i just did windows memory diagnostics and found no errors If it bluescreens now I assume its my PSU or windows memory diagnostics didnt find nothing and may have to run memtest for a few days. Everything is at stock now though.
  10. I did windows built in memory test it found no errors downloading cinebench right now .
  11. It's not consistent noises its like way less often then I get blue screens like once every 2 months maybe even longer. But probably should be safe just puts a hammer into my saving for the 1070 but I guess its still out of stock anyway so whatever.
  12. Also I had memtest86 go one night and I woke up after like 13 hours and It wasn't done I dont think but it hadn't found any errors so I kind of cancelled it should I let it run fully through all the ram.

  14. What do you think about the noise I hear from time to time it sounds like the fan ramps up to really like overkill levels on the PSU since it never goes that high.
  15. I didn't think i even overclocked my RAM ill laugh at myself if I somehow did that. While I went to mobo a few days ago and loaded optimized defaults to remove anything I did wasn't sure If I should reset the CMOS was more of a last resort to me it seemed.
  16. I have my old 125 watt one from this computers stock build so no lol.
  17. Also what would be a good quality power supply that might be worth buying.
  18. Well I've used intel burn test on all the highest settings and it never got a bluescreen while doing it but.
  19. I see also another thing I just remembered I was at my friends house and he had a seizure while gaming on my PC when I was sleeping a while ago and knocked my tower over and when I turned it back on the PSU'S fan or something inside was making a weird loud noise and didn't stop until I cleaned it and its come back periodically now I feel like it might be a good idea for a new PSU. Before I buy my gtx 1070.
  20. It has said the WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR bluescreen before but I'll check my bluescreenview to see if that was the last one I got I dont think it was. It happens so randomly sometimes It'll be when I'm playing ESO other times when I click open skype or youtube. It is might weird.
  21. So I had my cpu overclocked from 3.5ghz to 4.3 ghz and I was experiencing blue screens not very often but maybe once every two weeks. I am here to ask now that I've un-overclocked it if there's a program I can run for hours or something that will make my computer blue screen if it is my CPU. I also had suspicions that it was my RAM since my friend built a new computer and he gave me some of his old ram 12gb of it to be exact. What programs can I run to see what is causing the issue because to be honest I like having my cpu overclocked my frame rate has dropped significantly in games like ESO without having it overclocked. My Specs: Mobo: MSI z97 Pc Mate CPU: i5-4690k 3.5ghz CPU Cooler: Hyper 212 Evo GPU: Sapphire R9 270x 2gb (I've been experiencing display driver crashes quite frequently with this not sure if its relevant but I've tried clean uninstalling amd's suite multiple times now) PSU: Corsair CS650M HDD: 1TB Thanks for any replies in advance.
  22. Alright it is overclocked my 4690k to 4.2ghz at 1.25v so i dont know i either think its that or the ram since i just added 12gb of ram to my pc recently and I only did it after i got my new cpu and mobo installed. Never knew if it was even stable in my old system either. For memtest do i have to put it onto a flash drive and run it?
  23. Could this be causing stuttering in a game like eso? Overclocked CPU? OR incorrectly overclocked cpu
