I know this sounds impossible, but try to focus on the future, rather than dwelling on the past.

Not sure if you need money ASAP, or can wait for school etc, but IT helpdesk is a good place to start that sort of career, and you can self study A+ or your Cisco certs.  Setup a homelab and learn the skills, you don't need a formal education.  Help desk is a stepping stone to other better roles.  Even with a formal education, many people start there anyway.  And given your sales experience, employers will look favorably on you because they don't need to teach soft skills (talking).

Personally I find setting and following a structured, healthy routine is best.  Make sure you eat, seep and exercise.  I find that waking up, cleaning my self and home, then getting outside for a walk or bike ride, sets my mind up for being productive and makes it easier to knock things off my too do list.

I'm starting a help desk job next week, and wish I was offered $20/h and I have years of experience.  Take the job and start working, and look for something better while you gain experience and income.

I’ve been in and out of school for too long and I’m just way to old now. I would love to finish school but that’ll mean I need to change degree again and start new classes. The amount of time it takes to finish for me in information technology would be 3.5 years. And I just don’t know if I can wait that long anymore… I feel depressed even thinking about it.

You might want to work for a datacenter, it's not customer-facing in the same way typical IT is (either you work for a company like Microsoft to directly manage their servers, or work for a contractor who manages the hardware on their behalf)

Do you live in an expensive area? Changing your spending habits can also help. Trying to relegate food to $250 to $300 a month can make a big difference.

How do I even get in with no experience in IT? I feel like it’s impossible. I no longer can support myself and I moved back with my parents. Being as old as I am, it’s very heart breaking to me that I can’t even support myself nor the girl that I love.

  3. I never felt so depressed in my life and the stress is making me just want to sleep without eating. I’ve lost so much weight and I’m not in a really good spot in my life currently. I want to ask the community for help, and how I can really get out of this pit hole. I’ve recently lost majority, if not most of it, of my savings due to some really bad decisions and now it’s hitting me in the face. I girl I love feel as if she’s not as interested in me anymore. I have no fall back plan in my life that can be secure as a career. I’ve worked odd jobs and majority of my money was made in the crypto bull market from last year. I do not want to go back to the previous place I was before where I struggle entire of my life with no income and living pay check to pay check.

I’m trying my best to come up with a plan, but it’s so hard with this depression and stress that’s just overwhelming me. I’m switching my focus to go into IT as I was always good in IT troubleshooting and networking. I spoke to a family member and he told me about a position called network engineers which I am very interested in. My goal currently is trying to get my foot in the door and it seems impossible with no degree. I’m currently trying to study for Comptia A+ certification and thinking of taking a college course for the CCNA certification.

I really don’t want to work help desk because I’ve been in sales and dealt with costumers for a very long time and just feel really burnt out by it. I need something in my life that will give me a stable career and income to support myself and make moves in my life. If any one can help guide me, please, I’ll be very appreciative as I’m so down in my ropes right now.

I tried running it with A-XMP on, didnt work.
A-XMP off and AUTO frequency, didnt work.

    Running at 3600MHZ, didnt work.
    Running at 3400MHZ, didnt work.

    Running at 3200MHZ, didnt work.

It would simply just be stuck with the CPU lamp lid but not going onto the DRAM lid or passing onto the Boot lid. I guess i'll just have to wait and buy a new processor next month and roll with what I have and see towards the end if it was actually my CPU that cracked somewhere internally. Atleast that is my guess now because after installing the new ram on occasions my pc just restarts itself and the system logs say

A fatal hardware error has occurred.

    Reported by component: Processor Core

    Error Source: Machine Check Exception

    Error Type: Cache Hierarchy Error

Processor APIC ID: 0/1/6/14 (6 instances with APIC ID being one of the 4 I wrote down)

CPU and GPU temps max were both 65-70°

Sorry for the late response, I have not been online. Seems to me you're changing A-XMP frequency and not the adjusted DRAM frequency that is set at 2666mhz. Disable A-XMP and go under DRAM, where it says AUTO, change it to a lower frequency.

Also, looking at your picture you posted, you're logged into game boost mode which is set for A-XMP mode, cannot be game boost.

  5. I ran to similar issues in the past. Your ram sticks aren't syncing properly and it's causing shut downs. It's why when you load with one, it'll boot, but when you add two, it just goes chaotic mode. It's been a while since I dealt with this problem, but to fix it, you'll need to adjust the frequency of the ram sticks. Go to your BIOS, DRAM, and adjust frequency to [AUTO]. It should automatically set to auto, if it's not, set it to auto. My belief is that when you have XMP enabled, the ram sticks aren't set to AUTO but to their max capacity to boost more performance.

If the profile is set to AUTO, adjust the frequency to a lower amount other than 3600 mhz. Keep testing it till you get the sweet spot to when your ram sticks is sync. There are some mobo settings that will void this frequency adjustment to put out more performance, you'll need to disable those like XMP profile, overclocking, gaming mode, precision boost, etc..

Cost of living in Japan is higher than the US, if you are making USA based salary, you may find it hard to afford living there.

Also, do you have Japanese citizenship? How do you plan on staying there long term? Most visas or permitted stays will likely be less than a year unless you are employed by an Japanese company.

It’s going to be for the first year on the visa and overtime work for the citizenship. How do foreigners  afford to live in Japan when the cost of living is higher than US, are they employed by a Japanese company and work the super long hours?

  7. Hard to find information about this subject. I'm switching my career into Computer Science and wanted to know if I'll be able to live off-shore (Japan) while still working for a good US company. If company won't work, what about living in Japan, but taking on side jobs that's from the US (better pay)?

There has to be someone on this board who has a CS degree that is living in Japan, but doing side jobs for income. I don't want to be employed in Japan as the work hours there is not what I want and the pay isn't as competitive. Wanted to take on side jobs else where while living abroad.

My first pc, I have everything except for the pc tower so I was wondering what parts I should get that will run well and last me a while.

For budget of $1,500 you can get a high end pc gaming rig.

Are you now looking for comments on the "gaming" build posted above?

Okay, 200 questions and not a single comment on what’s being asked. If I didn’t add the GPU it’s because I don’t need it. Quickly on title post meant exactly that, I needed reference for a build asap within that hour and didn’t have time to give you an essay.

“Are you now looking for comments on the gaming build above?” Are you hurt or something to be a sarcastic dbag? read the mark for resolved and you can figure that out if I need comment on it or not.

Again, I highly recommend you stop calling me a liar based on assumptions you are making.

I don't feel like discussing this much more since it's based on leaked information, but please note that there were 3 editors being paid the same amount of money. One of which we know for a fact had a full year worth of salary since he was employed the year prior the leaked salaries.

It simply seems more likely that Linus gave them really poor salaries for the first year before bumping them up.

The only other explanation would be that the salaries were not full year salaries, and it just so happened that the editor who was employed for a full year happened to take unpaid leave for precisely the right amount of time for his salary to match the other editors' salaries. It seems a bit too convenient if you ask me.

By the way, it wasn't really a "partial tax record" that was leaked. It was a document full of notes which they most likely used as the basis for their T4, but it was not the T4 itself. The document contained plenty of information that was not tax-related.

Welcome to greed. This happens about 99% of the time, I would know. It starts with small people who started a business and when business takes off, the owners will pay themselves a hefty amount and compensate it for lower wages or cut elsewhere. These are the same folks who talk about how they will never treat another person wrong and pay them their fair share, but when things get to that point years later... they do exactly what they preach against. In their minds... "It's my business, I started it." It's why the highest paying jobs are business owners, always have been.. and statistically speaking... always will be.

Got a 3080ti and it's running 85-88c in most games. Which seems very hot to me. And my case has very good airflow. It is running on stock bios and is not overclocked. Even undervolted it is in the 80-85 range.  My friend got the same one and his is in the 75c range. Please advise. Thanks!

    underclock it.

use MSI Afterburner. Set the interface skin to Default v3.

Set the curve to -300 (Negative 300) and press enter.

Press CTRL + F and a screen will pop up.

Move your mouse to 835 mV and go up as high as your base clock which for the 3080 TI is 1800 ( I believe.)

If you are getting crashes at 835 mV, then increase it by 10 and repeat this process till you hit a sweet spot that your GPU can function at a lower mV.

Leave the volts alone on the power limit.

You should start seeing a big improvement on temp without losing performance. Most cards come default with zero-fan on. There should be a switch on your GPU to turn this off (not sure if TI comes with it.) Either that, or you can overwrite it with MSI Afterburner using the Curve Fan Control in settings.

I did forget to mention. When I play games (modded FO4, Forza, B4B, etc) everything does run smoothly, but there was one time when I loaded Back 4 Blood, the sound started to lag and then almost every texture went purple and started to artifact. I restarted and it didn’t happen again. I am just worried that within time, things are going to get worse, so I am wondering if I should just contact ABS and ask them to RMA right now instead of waiting if the GPU’s life is ticking

Newegg is notorious for swapping new cards and replacing it with old used cards. Happened to me. I was able to tell because I saw the screw holes peeled and used. The artifacts is a sign of memory issues. Running games that utilizes lower memory will stop the artifact from appearing so often. But when running games that uses higher memory, the artifacts will show itself.

Run HWINFO, exit all programs and games and put PC at idle. Copy and paste data here of the GPU clocks.

I got a 3070 ti semi recently. Have been running it no issues for a bit until tonight while playing FF14. Was just playing for a bit, and had a hard gpu crash. Audio from discord and FF was still rolling through correctly, just the displays fully turned off. I've already DDU'd my drivers and reinstalled, there's nothing huge showing up in the event viewer. Any ideas?

only thing I've been able to gather from event viewer has this:
1>The DSM service was delayed by 63 seconds for a driver query/download/install on device 'PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_2482&SUBSYS_37973842&REV_A1\4&1D81E16&0&0019'
2>The Open procedure for service "WmiApRpl" in DLL "C:\Windows\system32\wbem\wmiaprpl.dll" failed with error code The device is not ready.. Performance data for this service will not be available.

Current things I've tried: DDUing drivers, changing speeds to PCIe-4 in BIOS, I have tried reseating the card, alongside turning it on and off again.

    Edit for specs:

    windows 11 Home (22000)
    ASUS ROG STRIX B550-f
    Ryzen 5 5600x
    32 gigs Gskill trident z (3200mhz)
    EVGA 3070 TI FTW3 Ultra
    Nzxt c650w

Have you tested it on another game to see if it works?

Did you upgrade to Windows 11 and then installed  the 3070 TI?

Have you tried 3070 TI with Windows 10?

Alright i will run some benchmarks and make Screenshots of the onscreen information, clocks ...

RAM and CPU are to my knowledge fine its the GPU which has Problems but youll See IT on the Benchmarks later

pull up the hwinfo data and while at idle, i want to see the current clock base on the 3080 ti. and also, what are the temps of the GPU at idle?

Well you're making the assumption that cold fronts just happen in some areas, its very unusual for it to be warm in some parts of North America in December, or for it to snow in March or April.

Because it does happen. I've already explained in the previous post why there are warming days in December, as to, what you perceive to be 'winter days' when it isn't. It's literally NOT unusual for it to snow in the summer because it has been happening for centuries and will continue to do so. It does NOT happen often, but it doesn't make it NOT NORMAL. This isn't an assumption and cold front does in fact move wherever it likes. So exactly what are you getting at? This literally is not rocket science and snowing in the summer doesn't mean it's end of the world and nor does it mean 'climate change.' It's been happening way before you were born and will continue to do so.
