  1. Wow this would be really cool for projecting on a wall. Compact and close to the wall as well.
  2. I just bought a Panasonic 65DX902B 4k hdr tv because I just couldn't justify the extra cost of the lg oled tvs, no matter how good they look... What I didn't realise is that it does not support dolby vision and only supports the hdr10 standard used by sony and samsung. Should I be worried about my tv becoming incompatible with future hdr content? I know Netflix currently supports both and bluray uses hdr10(not that anyone uses blurays anymore ), but is it likely that dolby will become the standard or will content continue to support both or just hdr10? (I originally posted this in the display section, mods feel free to remove that one.)

Edit: I now realise this should be in the home theatre section. oops...
  4. update: again I waited and for whatever reason it let me log in and this time explorer started and everything opened as normal, however it crashed after about 1 minute of logging in and restarted... surprise surprise.
  5. I should have said, the cpu, motherboard and ram have been working for about a year and a half with no issues, the gpu probably about a year. Regardless I now have even bigger problems, after a crash my keyboard didn't light up but my mouse did, however I could not get past the lock screen on windows although windows was running. I rebooted it and this time my mouse didn't turn on but the keyboard did. I left it for a while and my mouse had turned on by the time I came back. I logged in successfully but the screen was black with explorer not running and only 1 startup application in the screen. I opened task manager through ctr alt del, and couldn't start explorer although everything seemed to be running. I restarted and again couldn't log in, no response from mouse or keyboard, but the clock on the lockscreen was still working, weird. Could this be a motherboard issue due to the USB ports or the psu? I don't know what would cause this, however I would prefer it to be the motherboard or the psu as the mobo might still be under warranty whereas the cpu isn't and would be fairly expensive to replace.
  6. Usually I just hard reset it because I'll be halfway through something and want to get back to it. Sometimes I'll come back to it and it will have restarted, so it seems to restart itself after a while but I'm not sure if it does it every time.
  7. Recently my computer started to crash maybe once a day but it wasn't that annoying and I had been busy anyway so did nothing about it. However in the past few days the number of crashes has dramatically increased to the point where its not even worth using it because it crashes at least once an hour, sometimes twice within 10 minutes. My processor was overclocked but not excessively (4690k to 4.6ghz at 1.24v if i remember correctly) so I removed my overclock completely to see if it was that, it wasn't. Although it could well be that the cpu has degraded due to the voltage although not exessive. I do have a somewhat questionable brand psu I have been using for a while, but has served me well for some time and is 80+ bronze so I haven't changed it. I for some reason don't think it's the psu but I could be wrong. I have skimmed over the logs and didn't see anything conclusive but I may have missed something. Any ideas as to what this could be? Side note: It hasn't crashed while writing this.
  8. I was looking at the acer CB280HK and saw some people complaining about ghosting and others dismissing it. Does anyone have this monitor to give their opinion on it? Is the ghosting worth it for the adjustable stand vs. the samsung U28D590D? I currently have an old 1920x1200 TN from iiyama so I might not notice the difference.
  9. Hmm, OK. The acer looks good, I'll have a look some more.
  10. First: I'm calling UHD or 3840x2160 4k to keep things simple. I had been looking at the Korean 1440p monitors for my 970 but having looked around for a while, I started looking at 4k monitors. I admit that I don't actually game much and spend most of my time on YouTube, Reddit etc. I am looking at the Samsung U28D590, I know it's TN but I have always had a TN so I don't care. There are some pretty good deals on ebay for it at the moment. I am looking for a 4k monitor, over 25 inches and under £350 (I know its a big ask...) any suggestions? Also, how does 1080p content scale to 4k? I know its 1 to 4 pixels so it should scale perfectly but in reality are there ever issues? This also applies to gaming as there is NO WAY my 970 will be able to push decent fps at 4k. Thanks.
  11. Never mind, I had the points at 0% at 60 then 40% at 70. It worked fine once I set it to 40% at 60. Thanks for the help anyway.
  12. I had them set to about 35% at 60 so will reflash, change it to 40% and see if that helps. I had the temperature hysteresis set to 12.
  13. I did this to my 970 g1 gaming and it worked, however the fans start at 0 then spike up to max(on fan tachometer) and then back to 0 and this repeats... I flashed my backup back and it went back to normal. Any Idea what is wrong?
  14. OK thanks, I'll probably just stick with my 970, better or worse.
