  1. I just set up my amd pc with a new Ryzen 7 3700X, I was running a Ryzen 5 2600, I have an Asrock B450M and I updated the bios, only thing I changed from old set up (out side of cooling). I still have 16g ddr4 G skill Trident Z running at 3200, Crucial M.2 Nvme 500g and until I can update gpu I'm running a Radeon Rx580. Now It boots fine, runs fine till it doesn't run fine, lol. I do company work at home use 2 monitors, 5 different webs pages open and using excel all is fine then it will just freeze up. I went back to one monitor and just regular personal browsing and walk away for half hour and it is frozen again. Nothing unfreezes pc, only the mouse works movement wise but wont open or close any program or shutdown pc, so I have to do hard shut down and reboot. Any Ideas? P.S. Updated every driver I could
  2. Yes I prefer AMD, I just need to get use to it and be more careful.
  3. The one thing I've notice is that this AMD board doesn't lock down like the Intel boards I have used. I would not be able to do this to my 1150 which I just put back together. Live and learn
  4. I would have been better off going straight up...I'm not kidding it took the end of a screwdriver to pry the two apart, I was trying to twist it off but it held tight. I will try the paste you have listed above. When I tried the Prisim cooler I used the paste it came with, never sure if I should or put new paste on. Thank you L
  5. I need some information on thermal paste. I have a new ryzen build, Asrock B450 board with a Ryzen 5 2600, first time I used my Corsair Hyper 212 evo, I was having a problem (don't remember what) and I decided to put the stock cooler on. When I took the Hyper 212 off the cpu pulled out of the socket and was attached like concrete to the cooler. Thought it was my old paste causing it, so got a new tube of Artic Silver. I put on the stock cooler, got my problem sorted out, since I found it had nothing to do with my cooler I put the Hyper 212 back on and used the new paste. A few days ago I thought it would be nice to have a little color, I got hold of a Ryzen Wraith Prisim RBG from ebay for $25. When I went to change it, omg first rate concrete holding cpu to cooler. The problem is that I ended up with broken/bent pins on cpu, guess don't know my own strenght. So as not to have this problem again, is there some reason the cpu is gluing itself to the cooler, do I need some kind of special paste for AMD. I also noticed that both the Wraith cooler and the Hyper 212 have same type of attachment. to the cpu. After I took the Hyper off I put the Wraith Prisim on and the cpu also attached like concrete and it had only been 20 mins. Had this mad idea it might still work...wouldn't even turn on. This isn't my first build, but it is my first AMD. I like to change things up, so I'm always changing things around. It in a small Node 804 case so I have to think small now, which why I was going to put the Prisim cooler on, didn't have money for an expensive rbg cooler. I don't really over tax a computer, a little overclocking for the hell of it and the most stressful game I play is FFXV on highest settings, I also play FFXI at fixed 30 fps...lol. My general temps running at 3.9 are at 30c to 34, and with stress tests usually never above 60-65c. I'm ordering a new cpu tomorrow, don't want to ruin a 2nd one. If I need new Thermal Paste I will get it, just need to know what kind is best
  6. I have built about 3 computer all Intel, decided I wanted to do all AMD, so I have Asrock B450M Pro, Rysen 5 2600, Sapphire Nitro etc RX580, Team Vulcan ddr 4 2x8. It has taken me 3 days to get it stable enough to actually have some hope it will run. I have been all over the internet, loaded and unloaded windows 10 so many times using 2 different ISO files. The bsod was all the time, today only 2 times this morning before work, so there is hope. I don't think any 2 bsod were for same reason. I need to figure out how to stabilize this system, I up the DRAM voltage to 1.35 (was at 1.25) that seem to help, updated all the window updates I could find so at build 1803, updated gpu drivers, as well the drivers, updated the bios, updated amd chip. It is slower than my i5 4690k and z97 board to boot up, used to be so quick. Slow to get to the Asrock/Sapphire screen , then on to the sign in. It Freezes all of a sudden and only way to get out of freeze is to hit the power off button. The freeze seem to happen when I hit button to download something, or hitting ok for machine to do something, not always but to often to feel comfortable. I did have a reading of 80c on cpu, but I got 3 apps which gave temps, and the uefi agreed my temp was 32c. I changed from my Hyper 212 evo ( thought maybe something wrong there) to new stock heat sink, but plan to go back to 212. But I couldn't figure out with a Node 804 case with top, both side panels, and front off how it was hitting 80c+ in a cold house with nothing but the os on the computer. Does thermal paste go bad? it looked evenly spread...it did pull up the cpu so it was tuff stuff. I have built and rebuilt my z97 machine 3 times, never had these kinds of problems. I can't figure out how to get it to run smoothly, where I can count on it, Its funny I saw Linus a few years ago, thought he was crazy, but it made me, at age 61, want to build a computer and I did, so not very knowledgable about the tweaks that I many not know about.
