Asrock, MSI and Gigabyte all have similar bios fan control to Asus now, so that's a good thing

Gigabyte X470 Gaming 7 is the best if you disregard Asus. X370 K7 is the competitor of X470-F, though it might need BIOS update if you are using 2nd gen Ryzen and VRMs are slightly worse than the X470 G7, but still plenty overkill for Ryzen 7 and is cheaper.

Asrock's BIOS is less intuitive, but thankfully the fan control isnt. The X370 Taichi is the best option (inferior to Gigabyte choices) because of the BIOS. X470 Taichi shares all but the chipset with the X370 Taichi, while the X470 Taichi Ultimate adds 10Gbit network and power/reset buttons on top of the standard Taichi. I wont recommend cheaper boards because they are worse than the X470-F

MSI screwed up AMD platforms in the past so I rank them last. X470 and X370 Gaming M7 are their flagships, while the Gaming Pro Carbon is at the same level of X470-F

.spider. got a reaction from AskTJ in Asus X470 alternative
I am currently using an Asus X470-F Gaming but I am not that happy with it. So I am looking for an alternative.

    These are my problems:
Firstly there's the sensor read out bug which can cause full system crashes.
    https://www.hwinfo.com/forum/Thread-ASUS-Prime-X470-Pro-Fan-headers-shutting-down-after-a-while-when-running-HWiNFO

75°C CPU temperature causes 100% fan speed.
You can use the Asus AI suite to increase the temperature but now you can not monitor temperature with other programs because of the above mentioned bug.

Fans get randomly stuck at 100% speed.

.spider. reacted to LAwLz in how to convert video file flv to mp3
Are you sure you want to convert it to .mp3?
    mp3 is audio-only.

If you want to convert it to .mp4 then I recommend you download FFmpeg and then run this command:
ffmpeg -i INPUT_FILE_NAME.flv -codec copy OUTPUT_FILE_NAME.mp4 That should do a straight transfer of the video and audio from the .flv container to an mp4 container. No quality loss, and it will finish really quickly.

THIS WILL ONLY WORK IF THE .flv FILE CONTAINS CODECS WHICH ARE SUPPORTED BY MP4.

If the .flv file contains some other format then you're kind of screwed and is only left with the option of re-encoding it, but at that point it's probably best to keep it as .flv.

I know this isnt new... but i couldnt let this slide....

The dynamic range, noise, framerates, formats, resolutions, apps, and more.... make sony the no brainer choice for video....

Canon footage is the worst ive ever tried to do motion vfx on, its usually not even possible to get good results.

Canon takes good video, but canon is the mac of the camera world now.. except there isnt a real advantage to using one other than how professional its bulk looks.

You try shooting in s-log3 at 8:30pm and then tracking and grading the shot... let alone not degrading the quality from rendering more than once to get it to the final product...

Canon is utter trash compared to any other choice at the same price now. Even a cheap 500$ camera. The look is probably just appealing because i think they have a gamma curve similar to film, but you can apply that curve to the footage of any good camera for half the price and get better results anyways..

Couldnt let that slide, sorry guy.

The reason why cpu usage is high when doing playback is because your GPU doesn't decode it, generally GPU playback is hit or miss, while your cpu doesn't support HEVC/H.265 but your gpu does, but it seems your player doesn't seems to use it, try with MPC-HC? or try it without SLI?

On the other hand content like Mindhuter (S1E2) is streaming at 1.7 Mbit/s for 1080p24

you will be surprised to know its actually just wire, The Arduino senses electricity coming from it. However, it is not very accurate and a more precise voltage sensors would make it more precise. It's actually an electromagnetic interference detector or EMF. Shielding the Arduino from the wire sensor is also an issue to avoid interference
