Youtube, which has become almost unusable at this point. Also, unnecessary epilepsy warnings

DrSpychology got a reaction from Vitalius in How much CPU power do I need as a student?
So in a couple of weeks, I'll be starting my first year of university. I'm going to study civil engineering in architecture and I've noticed that I'll be getting a ton of classes designing stuff using my PC. However, I don't know which programs I'm going to have to use and google hasn't helped me find out if those programs are CPU intensive or not. I'm set on which laptop I want to take, but I don't know if I should go for the i5-3230M or for the i7-3630QM. I'm willing to pay the extra €110 if that means that the programs will run significantly faster, but if it doesn't speed things up too much, I'd rather save that money for a possible SSD upgrade down the line or something else.

If anyone is interested, I'm thinking about the Asus N56VB, because it's the cheapest laptop available with a full HD screen and a backlit keyboard, base price with the i5 is €750. It comes with 4 gigs of ram (which might not be enough, but it's easily upgradable, so I'm not too worried), a 500 gig HDD and an Nvidia 740M with 2 gigs of DDR3 VRAM. I'd go for a Haswell laptop, but I can't find any that can compete with the price/performance ratio of this machine.

    Thanks in advance!

DrSpychology got a reaction from Mobuscus in New ultrabook? Help!
It should work for you, you don't seem to need too much power. It looks like it's a 15" version of the 900x3c, which is 13" and currently the highest rated ultrabook on Notebookcheck.net.

Personally, I'd find something like that not powerful enough (especially GPU wise) and doesn't offer too much extra (no DVD Drive, not a lot of storage), but if you only need to use word, powerpoint and some small coding, this should be good enough and the light body is definitely very handy and it looks fantastic. Maybe look at some (non RT) windows tablets, which would also work with word, powerpoint and programming, is even more mobile and you get a touchscreen with possibly pen support

Wow, first suggestion and I get a 10/10 +

Anyways, 8.5/10, I enjoy Daft Punk, but for some reason haven't heard of this nice tune.

DAMN IT Zombified cut me off. Just put the link into the post, it'll show up as an embedded video.
Anyways, 5/10, never liked Guns 'N Roses, I think I jussed missed the train on them. Still, it's decent and I wouldn't say you have bad music taste based on this tune, it's just not my kind of thing.

DAMN IT CUT OF ONCE MORE! 2/10, sounds like yet another pop-y love song.

OH ARE YOU SERIOUS? STOP IT! 6/10, it's an enjoyable song, but it doesn't do anything special for me.

*sigh 7.5/10, nice track, although I don't really like the vocals.

Now it's my turn. Meow - Anamanaguchi

It's a chiptune, which I realise is very niche, so I hope you enjoy it. Didn't really like it the first time around, but for some odd reason fell in love with it the second time around
