  1. I love the Z2's camera and I love dbrand for sponsering the Z2 review, I was really interested in the review
  2. So I have an old little laptop that I have to install Linux Mint 17 (Xfce) on. I've created a bootable USB, Linux Mint runs just fine and dandy. I tried doing the dual boot install in linux mint, but it won't work. When I checked on the windows side, I saw that the C: drive uses all the free space, even though only 25% of the drive is being used for data. I want to free up about 50% of the drive, create a new partition and install Linux Mint on that one, so I can dual boot. Any idea how I can take some of the free storage on the C: drive and make it into a seperate partition? Thanks in advance
  3. I like the soundsystem in the laptop, it's not some wimpy single speaker that might as well be from a phone
  4. My favourite thing about the G3 are the extremely thin bezels. My hands are on the larger size, so this phone would probably fit perfectly for me and I would get the biggest screen possible in that amount of space
  5. Fantastic giveaway, thanks HTC and linustechtips! My favourite feature of the phone is definitely the microSD card slot! Finally, a fantastic phone that has it! Take note, google, motorola and apple!
  6. Check this out http://www.head-fi.org/t/478568/multi-iem-review-304-iems-compared-clear-tune-monitors-wls-5-added-12-05-13-p-818 You are bound to find a good pair for you Also, don't be scared of some of the unknown brands, I have a pair of Vsonics, and they are great
  7. Do I need a special ROM? Because I'm fine with the OS on it now, just want to remove some stupid factory apps EDIT: also, the biggest thread there says it doesn't root the phone, just installs the ROM, which is exactly what I don't need
  8. So yea, the title says it al. I have an Acer Liquid Metal S120 updated to android 2.3.6. I want to root because I get this annoying message saying that my internal storage is full, even though I barely got any apps installed. However, there are some apps on there I wish I could uninstall because I never use them and they take up unnecessary space (SocialJogger, WaveSecure, AcerSync, Acer Registr.., RoadSync, Docs To Go, Spinlets and urFooz). From what I understand, I'll be able to remove these from my internal memory if I root my phone. I'm not going to install cyanogenmod or something, I just want this useless stuff gone. I posted this first on mobile devices, but it didn't get any views, so maybe this will work better? Any help would be greatly appreciated

I'm asking this here, because the top results on google weren't too popular, so I was a bit unsure if they worked properly. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  10. To get unlimited data on my phone, I would need to pay something like €80 a month, which I can't afford as a student...
  11. If we blow the limit, I think we get severly throttled (I'm guessing something like 0.5 Mbps down at best) but I'd rather not go there, because then instead of studying, I'm waiting around for my work to be downloaded. Maybe hack the system then? I remember myself guessing the passwords for the admin account when I was younger so I could play a game you needed to run as admin
  12. I know, but they seem to be able to do something about it, since the bandwidth caps are slowly moving up, they went from 20 GB last year to 25 GB this year. I have the biggest problem with the upload cap, because I've never had one before, I'm used to being able to upload 2.5 GB a day without even a hickup. I think I'm an exception in comparison to most other students as a student civil engineering in architecture. I need things like autocad, sketchup, photoshop,... and the presentations for our assignments are usually filled with pictures and movies, so they're big and we usually get them at 11 PM at the earliest, it's driving me crazy... I need to log in every time I want to use the internet, and it shows how much I've used already, so I'm always aware of how much I use. And that sucks dude, I'd try to become good friends with your sisters and getting them to download the big files you need I use wifi as much as I can, but the biggest presentations are usually released deep into the night, when everything's closed. IT probably has enough problems with all the other systems as is, everything uses something different, I'm going insane just using it, I can't imagine what it is like managing it. But I'll try anyway
  13. I realise there are even worse cases, but the university expects us to download a ton of presentations and programs, which would immediatly destroy the limit, and there is no way for us to upgrade in any way. Also, got some tips to live with that? When you connect any computer to any of the wired connections using the system, it opens up a browser tab where you need to log in. Changing the MAC address won't do anything. And I don't know why they expect us to live with such a horrid limit, but then expect us to download 20 GB of presentations and programs in a week... It doesn't to the best of my knowledge Found some specs of the server that apparently runs the entire system for 60 000 students, it has 1 GB of ECC RAM, and I don't know anything about servers, but that doesn't seem like it's enough...
  14. In that case, I have a school limit I don't think this would work, because the majority of students rooms are privately owned over here, so they don't connect to a single lan network but to the internet directly. And even if I'm wrong and it is possible, all things technical over here are messed up, so they wouldn't be able to make it work. There are hundreds of sites that we get bounced around to for assignments, schedules and books, I'm constantly logging in everywhere, I'm going insane with all these different systems
